bristol city 4-1 palace
embarrassing. 7 conceded already. and it's no good anyone saying it's only 2 games in, this shocking form has been going on for ages... just 3 wins in the last 24 matches... i can't see any light at the end of this very dark tunnel we're in... |

If this result isn't a wake-up call to the owners and management then I don't know what will be. There's talk of bringing in more loan-players before the deadline but I can't see players who are there for a few months or one season being the answer. We have one of the weakest squads in the Championship and we have lost our two opening games to two of the weaker sides in the division. And our next seven fixtures are Middlesbrough, Sheff Wed, Charlton, Forest, Cardiff, Bolton and Wolves!

Anyway, I'm going back to the Olympics, that was much more fun than this season is turning into.

A few months I'd agree, but one season is all we really need right now.
I won't say anything bad towards CPFC2010 as they saved our club but I do wonder what it is they are trying to do exactly. We cannot rely on loan players and academy players year after year and expect to stay up. I appreciate they are businessmen and they want to develop a self-sustaining club that they can then sell-on but who will be interested in a club with dwindling attendances, a stadium that's falling apart and possibly a team playing in League One? And if we are in the bottom 3 or maybe even the bottom 6 come January are we really going to be able to hold on to Zaha, Speroni and maybe even Williams? I do hope I'm wrong but it's worrying times ahead as far as I can see. |

i think alot of what CPFC2010 have told us is smoke and mirrors. i don't think investing in the team is a priority for them and it wouldn't surprise me if they already have contingency plans in place if we were to get relegated. everythings a mess right now and i'm struggling to see where results are going to come from.

Crikey!
![]() Pleased with the Bolasie signing. Never heard of Mortiz so we'll wait and see on that one. Still no striker in, though... ...yet? |

Middlesbrough 2 Palace 1 The BBC Live Text has stalled on my computer at 2:45 - except sometimes it shows a lot more for a few minutes! |

Another predictable result , all well & good signing mid fielders , but we need someone who can score goals , not just from penalties . Easter is not the answer .

...after todays loss it's the first time we've lost our opening 3 games for 39 years... depressing stuff... |

The last 30 minutes was a vast improvement yesterday but I can't help but agree with the points being made about the lack of a goal-scoring striker. We have a week to bring one in, if we don't we may find the going very tough indeed between now and January. |

The transfer of Victor Moses from Wigan to Chelsea for around £9m has been completed - will Palace get any of the fee? If so, does this improve the chances of buying a striker?

I think its 15% of any profit Wigan make, so it doesn't include the first £2.5m (which we sold him for) Plus only £7m Chelsea are paying is upfront, so it's 15% of £4.5m which is £675,000. Hope that made sense!

I read that we're bringing in a couple of Premier League loan players and making a permanent signing this week.
Here Despite the results so far I don't think we will be in the relegation places at Christmas, when the table starts to take shape. |

Take this with a huge pinch of salt but a mate that works in a croydon betting shop tells me they've had a couple of sizeable punts put on Ian dowie coming back as the next manager. Surely they wouldn't get rid of the Doog this quickly would they?

Thank you - can you buy a Championship striker for that sort of money, or would it be only a useful downpayment?

Paddy Mac is now out for 6 weeks with his groin injury. Link. Preston away tonight in the League Cup. |

A number of new players settling in, with more to come this week - our season is just getting started.
Beginning tonight! ![]() EDIT: Er, OK I kind of hoped for a better beginning than that... 1-0 after 2 minutes.
