I hope all the fans who go really enjoy the day and help Palace obtain revenge for 1990.
I appreciate that a win is against the odds, but doubt the odds at the start of the season would have been 5,000:1.

May the best team win, and I hope that neither team has any reason to complain about the result.

It suddenly dawned on me waking up this morning what big underdogs we are today. I'm clinging to the hope we can do this but part of me is now strangely dreading it!
I hope we show up today and give them a game. If they do win then they need to really earn it and not because we were shite. Plan to get to Wembley for around 4pm, I want to be in there for all the build up. Atmosphere our end is going to be insane! Enjoy the day folks and have everything crossed that maybe, just maybe lady luck will shine on us. COYP. |

40 years ago, ouch, I saw my first FA Cup final and supported the underdogs....and stuck with the Saints ever since. I like your club so will be urging you on today. 1-0 win with a borderline offside goal?
Good luck!

I've got my fingers crossed that we survive the first 10 minutes or so, and that we maintain concentration at the end of the first and second half. In the past I remember many matches where Man. Utd. have scored in injury time because they keep playing to the final whistle.

obviously gutted but proud of the effort. Not happy with the tactics, this was the worst United side for 30 years and we showed them way to much respect by the really negative tactics. if we had played any deeper we would have been outside the ground. because of it we never got Zaha or Bolasie in to the game and Wickham was constantly isolated.
the defence and Jedi were fantastic but once again Cabaye was anonymous. really beginning to think we should cut our losses with him, he hasn't played well for 6 months. final word to the fans. our support was exceptional. it really is second to none. |

CPFC site:
Jedinak was in tears at the end of the game when applauding the Eagles fans who had sung their hearts out for the full 120 minutes of football – the red and blue army by far the louder of the two sets of supporters. “My admiration goes out to the fans, they are the best fans in the country without a doubt, they come and sing and show their support and I urge them to do the same going forward and I’ve no doubt they will. We were buoyed on by such a fantastic crowd and it would have been nice for them (for us to have won it), but we came up short.” The fans were fantastic. They were amazing. There's not an atmosphere like it," added the right-back. "When you walk out there the hairs stand up on the back of your neck with the noise and the occasion. Our fans, right the way through - even at the end with the disappointment of losing - our fans showed their support. They lifted our spirits." |

It was a dreadful game and our overall performance, apart from how we defended, was poor.
Baffled by the starting line up and tactics, I genuinely cannot believe that we didn't have a go at them and decided instead to sit really deep, defend, defend, defend and then hope to hit them on the break. It would have been fine if we used the ball well when we did break but at no point were Wickham, Bolasie and Zaha in the match. As already touched upon Cabaye was a waste of space and even McArthur was poor with his passing and positional play. The sad thing is even after we scored I just knew they'd get back level because straight away we dropped back another 10 yards and our concentration went to pot. On the plus side I thought both our full-backs were brilliant, both Dann & Delaney were mountains, and when called upon Hennessey did everything right. Puncheon was excellent when he came on and his goal was superb but has to be somewhat at fault for their second goal with his initial weak challenge and then not tracking back. Our MoM was Jedi, he never stopped, was all over the pitch, and protected the back four brilliantly. He didn't deserve to be on the losing side. The fans. What can you say? We never stopped singing, never stopped urging the lads on, we were loud and proud throughout, even after suffering the heartbreak at the end. I have to believe that one day we will get to see our club win a major trophy, Christ knows, if ever a set of fans deserve to experience that it's us. Contrast that to their support, the only two times they were heard was after their goals, other than that there was nothing, the soul really has been sucked out of that club. And then we have Clattenburg. Well, we knew as soon as he was appointed there would be an issue with him, our record with him in charge speaks for itself. But even I didn't expect such a shambolic first half from him! A ref for 14 years who suddenly forgot how to play advantage?! You can forgive it once but when it happens 3 times in the space of about 20 minutes there can be no reasonable excuse. Best referee in the country?! Do me a favour, he isn't even the best referee in his own household. The man is a clown. Big summer for the owners and Pardew now, there has to be a clear out, there has to be strengthening of the squad otherwise I can only see a season of struggle on the horizon. |

my main feeling about yesterday is we have wasted a massive opportunity... we waited 26 years for this and we ended up making the worst united side in years look like barcelona because it was decided not to have a go at them & to play with an over cautious approach...
i think that's what's gonna piss me off the most in the days & weeks to come... the "what if" we actually played with a more positive attitude from the off... to me we looked like a side playing for penalties from the start and i find that depressing cos that's just not us... can't knock the players for their effort... well most of them anyway... got to be honest i'd be quite happy not to see cabaye in a palace shirt again. fans were immense... we have so much heart & soul, so much passion, dedication & devotion, the polar opposite to what we saw & didn't hear at the other end yesterday... clattenburg can do one... no point ever going to a palace game again with him in charge. |

They were booing their manager as he lifted the cup (those that actually stayed to watch) and then sacking him an hour later. What a club.
Today's been horrible. I keep imagining what it would have been like winning the cup with a Puncheon goal like that. Or if Zaha had kept his late shot down. Or if Gayle had put that scuffed shot away. But that feeling after Puncheon's goal...I want it back. |
