Pardew:
'four of their goals are from set plays and we've gotta be better than that - I will have to make changes'
what changes will that be? We don't have any other defenders? so we're going to get a back 4 of Campbell, Mutch, Ledley and Sako next week!

What a absolute shambles , lost count of the goals conceded from corners, late goals & general sloppy defending this season , what do they do all week in training ? . Things can't go on like this , there has to be changes
Whatever they do it's clearly not football related.

Couldn't be any worse!

Delaney will probably be back, and Fryers has to start ahead of Kelly but with the lack of defenders there's not much else that can be done apart from better bloody coaching!

bet you anything that if Parish does sack Pardew he'll go after Coleman next. he loves his Palace old boys brigade.

i'm still numb after earlier... can't believe what happened. the defending was hilarious... the kind of defending you see from a pub side on a sunday morning with everyone nursing a hangover... and the real scary thing is we are getting worse by the week.

you can't defend the indefensible and today was a disgrace...

or he'll bring dougie back...

Was thinking more about this last night and I think I would drop Kelly and Ward (and Hennessey if Mandanda is fit) and go with Tomkins at RB, Fryers at LB with Dann & Delaney at CB. Pretty sure Tomkins has experience playing at RB.

So more good news... Zaha has officially switched his allegiance to Ivory Coast which means we will probably miss him for up to 6 weeks in the New Year because of the 2017 Africa Cup of Nations.

So he's giving up the chance of playing for a country ranked 13 by FIFA for one ranked 34. Presumably he thinks he has a greater chance of being in the team?

Disappointing to see Zaha switch, he really should've been in the last squad. England have messed up there.

But he did bring Pulis in with no connection to the club and with no fans wanting him. He also went for Holloway to get us up when needed.

Talking of Pulis, he's got to pay us a wad of cash after a high court ruling about his departure.

It's been confirmed that Connor Wickham will be out for months following his injury.

HT Palace 2-0 Saints

2 early Xmas gifts from Southampton put us in command but what a dreadful game it was before those goals. we looked so nervous.

what we'd give for a clean sheet now!

FT Palace 3-0 Saints

A massive sigh of relief all round!

3rd goal from Benteke was nicely done. We weren't fliud today but we defended so much better and at last, at long long last it's a CLEAN SHEET!!

Tell me about it!

A much more cautious and disciplined performance from us today and it worked. We did get a lot of help with those first two goals but with Delaney and Ledley back in the starting line-up we looked more solid at the back. And with no Cabaye the midfield had a much better shape to it.

Worth noting that we have now scored 24 goals in the league, the same as Spurs, and only the top 4 have scored more. So if we can stop conceding silly goals at the other end we can still go on to have a fairly decent season.

today's earned Pardew a stay of execution but lose at Hull next week and his position will look really dodgy again. It will be another massive game for us.

We've clearly worked hard on the defence. I don't mind if we have to hoof it away, that was so much better.

Feels great to have a happy Saturday night for the first time in months.

^ Sutton would have been mental!

Bolton away is ok.

At least it isn't Southampton again.

HT 1-0 down.

Shocking dive for the penalty only matched by the shocking decision to give it.

The dive for the penalty was embarrassing. Sickens me when blatant cheating gets rewarded.

But putting that aside apart from a couple of flashes of brilliance from Zaha we have been woeful... again.

we have no idea how to play against 3 at the back. We've already shown that this season. our tactics are always so one dimensional and predictable. No wonder we make everyone else look good.
