pleased that this all got done quickly and there was no faffing about over it... happy with the appointment especially as it stopped hodgson or coleman from getting it!
this is a good read, well worth checking it out... link hopefully he can have an immediate positive impact on everyone... |

It feels a little bit like when we got Warnock in the first time under Jordan. A old-school manager who lots disliked before he joined, but was exactly who we needed.

This has got to be the quickest we've ever appointed someone after a sacking. That's progress already.
![]() Welcome Big Fat Sam. Considering his anti relegation record I am interested how his style of play plus backroom staff help us with lack of injuries etc. |

Have a good Christmas folks.
Here's hoping the new era under Big Sam gets off to a flyer on Boxing Day. Putting aside all the financial implications about needing to stay up, another reason is it's becoming increasing likely that Brighton are heading for automatic promotion this season. You have to go back to 1981 for the last time we played each other in a top flight league match. |

I'd be very surprised if this doesn't work out well for you. He did a very good job lifting a poor Sunderland team out of the relegation zone last season.

Last game of 2016 today which has been embarrassingly awful , let's hope 2017 is a whole lot better .
Any takers that Deeney will score his 100th goal today after been stuck on 99 for a while |

No McArthur or Ledley. Both injured. Losing McArthur is a huge blow. Can't believe how many we've had out through injuries this season and now it shows on the bench. |

Benteke goes from the sublime to the ridiculous with his penalties.

Jedinak was the only decent penalty we've had in recent years. he was the only one I felt confident in scoring them.

Best 45 minutes from Cabaye for a long, long time. It's like he's had his shackles removed.
Decent performance overall, we've looked more solid at the back but I don't think Watford have got going at all so I'm expecting more pressure from them after the break. |

seeing Benteke's pen again - just put your foot through it man!
Gomes challenge was awful on second viewing, he's deliberately taken Benteke out. should have been red never mind a yellow. |

Shooting ourselves in the foot defensively hasn't changed then.
And now Delaney is suspended for the Arsenal match. With Souare and Tomkins out injured that could mean Kelly at CB and Fryers at LB! |
