You can see where Big Sam has his work cut out. The defence gets more nervous and edgy the longer the game goes on.

FT 1-1

Benteke's crap pen costs us. could have predicted that.

at least it wasn't a defeat and something to build on. But we really need some defenders in next month.

The Clattenburg jinx strikes again. He officiated his first Palace match back in 2001. In 16 years with him in charge we have won 4 times! Conspiracy theorists would have a field day with that.

First half we looked good and should have had the game wrapped up at the break. Second was a slog for us but at least we didn't end up getting beat late on.

Transfer window will be crucial for us.

You could see the fitness issues again. we looked knackered once more after 70 minutes. Hopefully we'll see a big difference there in the coming weeks.

Have to admit his free kick decisions seemed pretty random today, but then again I think refs are poor nowadays.

Can't stand Clatternburg and those stats show why.

Allardyce is right, how can you book Delaney but not Gomes in their respective penalty challenges?

Makes what Delaney did even more frustrating.

Should have put a bet on Deeney scoring today after so much pre-match talk on his barren run.

The first half was really good. Having Flamini in there gives Cabaye much more freedom to move about - he was great today too.

If Allardyce can just get the defenders back to being the solid players they used to be, it would solve so many of our problems.

Hope everyone had a good Christmas.

seasons greetings all...

apart from sorting out the defence another thing i hope allardyce gets to grips with is us actually having a good 90 minutes instead of 45 minutes... we never seem to have 2 good halves any more. when was the last time we played well in both halves of a match? yesterday was another example of that.

don't like the slow run ups to penalties... to me that shows uncertainty... but not sure who else we have to take pens?

sidenote - the seaweed are coming up aren't they?

Unfortunately I cannot see them choking this season.

Have you all noticed that the top two scorers in the Championship are Gayle and Murray?

Swansea, Sunderland & Middlesbro' all losing to add to Hull's draw last night. with our dismal record against Arsenal obviously getting anything tomorrow will be a bonus. but our game against Swansea on Tuesday now is massive.

Happy New Year all. hopefully 2017 is more like 2015 for us results wise.

Damage limitation today I think, it's so very rare we get anything from Arsenal, and in the grand scheme of things Tuesday night is the more vital game.

The first time since promotion that I haven't been to Arsenal away. That makes me strangely confident this'll be the one time we win.

^ When I was younger I always went to Highbury. Only missed one game there, the only one we ever won!

Good to see Tomkins back. Bench looks a bit stronger today, too.

we need McArthur, Ledley and Remy fit as soon as possible what with Zaha and Sako going to AFCON in the week.

Jesus wept, Fryers has been injured in the warm up. We have no defenders left now to even put one on the bench.

and Allardyce saying playing Tomkins is a risk. this doesn't bode well.

Stunning goal. But all from a wayward side pass up field and our passing so far has been poor.

Not much you can do about a strike like that but we look like we were up all night on the lash so far. Going to be a long game.

This is men against boys. We look like we have both eyes on Tuesday night not just one.
