I've no doubt the Moxey sending off cost us the 3 points. I would have preferred it if he had just let the ball go in as with eleven men on the pitch we would have gone on to win comfortably.
Meanwhile, it's been confirmed that Bolton have asked for official permission to speak to Dougie about their vacant manager's role. Link. Why do these things always happen to us just as things start to be going in the right direction? |

Still can't see him going. Just wouldn't make any sense to me, for him to leave now.

Can't see the point in not giving him permission to speak to Bolton. If he wants to stay then great, if he wants to go then let him. Nothing worse than a player or manager that doesn't want to be there.
Don't want another Steve Bruce type situation. |

A change of heart and he is now talking to Bolton.
I'm torn, we all know dougies short comings as a manager but we are in such good form right now I would be gutted to see that end. |

Don't do it Dougie! Think it'd be a big mistake all-round for him to go there.
As well as probably effecting our form badly, he's still learning as a manager. He should get time to do that with us, but who knows if he'll be able to get Bolton fans on side if he didn't start well. |

Money talks but the Bolton fans don't seem too chuffed and he will be under much greater pressure to get results.

Spotted this in Fridays Croydon Advertiser , DF quote
" The simple facts are I'm in the middle of building Crystal Palace Football club , & when I picked the club up , we were in a dark place . I think I'm halfway there in getting the club the way I want it to be & I'm not the kind of guy to leave jobs half done " The next day or two will see if Dougie is true to his word or money talks . |

if dougie goes it will prove to me once and for all that there is no such thing as loyalty in football any more... he is palace through and through, we are his club, and yet he wants to talk to the first other club that comes knocking for his services? makes no sense to me... even last week he said he wouldn't leave a job half done...
...if he does go then sod the expense, get 'arry in! |

I genuinely don't get this. It surely can't be about the money. We're talking about a man whom if you cut open would bleed red & blue. A man second only to Steve Coppell in his legendary status at the club. This was the job he was so proud to get in the first place and he is finally getting everybody pulling in the right direction and we are flying. Now, all of a sudden he wants to go talk to Bolton? Must be something else going on behind the scenes, surely?

thing is what if he doesn't go and decides to stay... how can we trust him again, that he won't want go talk to any other club that comes in for him in the future? the fact that he is willing to talk to bolton in the first place says that his heart isn't 100% in the palace job, that something is wrong... at least that is how i feel about it.

Still see it as such a stupid decision for him. If he goes.

How unlike palace to shoot ourselves in the foot just as things are going well.

I read just now in the holmesdale site, the only loyalty in football is from the fans.

Steve Parish, the Palace chairman, told Sky Sports News: "I certainly don't feel betrayed. He had a very good offer on the table from us, I felt. I don't feel Dougie is somebody who's hugely motivated by money – he certainly didn't give me the impression we could fix it with money. I think it could be more about ambition." Parish stated that Freedman's ambition to manage in the Premier League was "an obsession. I think it came down to him believing that his ambition was greater than ours. There is an element of this I don't understand." |

Feel hugely let down by Dougie. The statement he gave last week was a load of crap as it turns out.
He's a hero of mine and that won't change and I sincerely wish him all the best at Bolton even though I find the move odd in the extreme. Now we're back to square one again. Who the hell do we give the job to? |
