Seems he's keen Steve Coppell again if he's interested

Funny thing is a month ago would he have even been considered for the job!?

Backward step? Just a cheap and safe option? Surely we should at least try and be more ambitious.
No chance. It's been is an 8-game unbeaten run and suddenly he's Bolton's number 1 target. Very odd. |

although i loved him as a player i was never 100% with Dougie being our manager but he had started to win me over and prove me wrong but now all he's proven is what a turncoat he is. can't see him lasting more than 18 months up there.
no idea where we go from here. Karl Robinson is a decent shout. although he has past Millwall connections i wouldn't mind Mick McCarthy, he has a proven track record in this division. Tony Popovic and Gareth Southgate are possibilities if we want someone with a club connection. don't really think Steve Coppell would be the right move, not unless it was just a temporary appointment. the players must be really down and bemused. it will be a surprise if they can get anything tonight. |

Would very much like Karl Robinson, or someone else up-and-coming like that.
Coppell returning would be quite fun though and potentially a great story. (Also potentially a big disaster obviously. )

Half time Eagles leading 1 - 0, and Bolton losing 1 - 2

Barnsley 1-1 Palace
Almost got the win, just 4 minutes left when they equalised. Credit to the lads, must have been difficult considering the circumstances. That's 9 unbeaten now. |

Not bad at all in the circumstances, I suppose. So close to a win though.

Well, a draw is not as good as winning but is better than losing. We are fourth and Bolton are 16th
![]() Well done to the players, they may have had all kinds of different emotions and stress with Dougie leaving. |

definitely take the point after all the crap we've had to put up with today. hopefully things will be a bit more settled for the big one up at Leicester.
are Lennie Lawrence and Curtis Fleming sodding off to Bolton too? |

Sounds like we were dominated for most of the match, but have to accept that's a decent point - especially with no Zaha.
No idea where we go from here, but the next few days are gonna be interesting. |

can't believe dougie did the dirty on us like that... the board sticks by him after our dismal run in the 2nd half of last season and the first 3 games of this season when they could have easily sacked him and this is how he repays them? unbelievable!
i have no clue who i would like next... i thought dougie would be there for years... seems like we're never gonna get any stability... good point last night... shame we couldn't hold on but their equaliser was some goal! |

Wait for this...
With Bolton still yet to confirm anything it's believed that Ipswich have now made a move for Dougie! Link. You really couldn't make this stuff up! |

The term legend is banded around far to much I know but that man truely is a Palace legend! My second choice would be Ian Holloway. Living in a dream world it would be 'arry lol |

I'd always feel nervous if it was Harry.
I always get the feeling he's a financial disaster waiting to happen.

Bolton have just made if official. I wish him the best but the way he left has left a nasty taste in my mouth.
Loyalty only exists with fans it seems. |

Freedman said: "I am delighted to join Bolton. The club is geared up to getting back into the Premier League."There is an impressive setup and structure in place, and a first team squad of undoubted quality.

Crystal Palace co-chairman Steve Parish says he will contact Steve Coppell about their managerial vacancy after the departure of Dougie Freedman.
Parish said that even if Coppell is not interested in the manager job, he will ask who he thinks is best suited to replace Freedman, who has joined Bolton Wanderers. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/20082182 |

Not gonna lie, I would be well pleased if sir Steve came back. He still has so much to offer in my opinion and would be a steady hand.
Oh to sing his name again

Yes, I've become more and more excited by the thought of Coppell returning!
Seems too good to be true though. |
