The best post I have read on the whole Freedman saga written by Dan Cooper , it's about half way down the page .

Thanks for putting that link up Barney, excellent read and all of it absolutely spot on.

As for Steve Coppell, I guess I would be happy to see him back as Director of Football, the same role he currently has at Crawley with then a younger man in as manager (someone like Karl Robinson as an example) I'm just not sure it would work if Steve came back as the manager himself.

It will seem strange watching Freedman getting off the Bolton coach at Boro today on the Football League Show tonight .

Leicester v Palace is the commentary match on 5 Live Sports Extra today .

I really hope that decisions are made as soon as possible. It must be very stressful for the players.

great 1st half. hopefully it's not the same as last week and we don't throw away a 2-goal lead.

So, Middlesborough have scored and are now above Palace in the table. Much as I would like Dougie to not do well, I think I would prefer a draw for him and Palace to go above Middlesborough.

A great win, but more than that it was a great performance. Thoroughly deserved the three points. Huge credit to the lads, and also to Lennie and Curtis for getting everyone ready for this game. Part of me is now wishing they would stay.

Well done, Palace

It's not certain that Lennie and Curtis are going, is it?

Apparently in the an after match interview Lennie said "He was loyal to Freedman, but employed by Palace."

Read in to that what you will. I'm sure if CPFC2010 wanted Lennie and Curtis to stay they would make them an offer very soon seeing as Parish said they would ideally want a new boss in place for the Blackburn game next week.

Crystal Palace caretaker boss Lennie Lawrence: "We knew exactly how difficult it would be at Leicester who will be in the top six at the end of the season without a shadow of a doubt. We had a game plan and it worked.
"We started boldly and scored two goals whereas at Barnsley we just got one. We knew they'd throw everything at us and they did but we defended resolutely, Julian Speroni made some saves and we rode a few moments of luck.
"Whoever takes charge will have a side that has every chance of maintaining a play-off challenge. They are so good as a unit, they could probably run themselves for a week or two.
"They have been absolutely spot on since Dougie left - if they weren't, you could never come to a place like this and win."

All of them were brilliant today. Obviously got pushed back in the second half, but worked hard and could have finished it off with one of the breaks.

Honestly expected us to lose this one - what a great way to end a shitty week.

Excellent match report here:

One of those days when being Palace makes everything worthwhile.

Lennie Lawrence is not interested in filling the manager's role on a permanent basis.

Presumably we want to keep them on at least 'til we find a new manager.

But if they continue to do a job like on Saturday, we may well want to keep them forever!

Well, it's not going to be Mick McCarthy - he's gone to Ipswich. Link.

Michael Appleton now the favourite for our vacancy. Not sure how I feel about that.
