Having seen Watford's last few games on Sky I was surprised at how poor they were but all credit to Holloway he got his tactics perfect and Palace thouroghly deserved their win. As for Zaha he had a brilliant game and Manchester United look like they have got themselves a real gem that's of course if Moyes even wants him.

So how much are tickets at Man U, Everton, Stoke and Villa anyway? I'm guessing away days just got a bit more expensive?!!

Real football magic: from almost three years ago seemingly about to be in liquidation to being promoted to return to the Premier League.

amazing day! i'm so chuffed! i take back any criticism i made of Holloway, his tactics in the play-offs have been first class and he got them spot on again today, we just didn't allow Watford to play.
we should have had the game wrapped up at 90 minutes with our 2nd half performance and when it went to ET i did worry that we may have blown it. Zaha was fantastic, so were our back 4 to a man, in fact everyone played their part. it's been a brilliant day and i'm going to revel in it and worry about next season in a few days.

What about the Jedi? Most superstar billy big balls players would of gone straight off after turning their ankle but he just shrugged it off. A legend in the making.

Where to start eh?
Goes without saying what a fantastic day this has been. To think that after losing the first three games at the start of the season I genuinely thought we would be in a relegation dogfight and now here we are back in the Premier League! This is why I love this sport and this club! It wasn't the best of matches I suppose but it was never going to be a high-scoring classic the way some were predicting, not with the way Ollie had us set up. Tactically he played a blinder again, we never really looked in trouble until very late in the game when they had to go for it. Delaney and Gabbidon were mountains at the back, and Zaha was his usual bag of tricks. But as Oblivian mentions, Jedi was immense in every sense of the word and was my man-of-the-match. When KG went off his workload practically doubled and despite the knock he took he continued to be everywhere. Brilliant performance. Commiserations to Watford and their fans, especially Mark on this forum. I wish you the best for next season. Talking of which I don't believe we have anything to fear. Take away this season's top 7 in the Premier League (and maybe one or two others who had a poorer season that expected) I don't think we should be daunted at all. But let's worry about that another day. Oh, loved the stadium BTW. Perhaps not the same character as the old one but still very, very nice. |

Credit to Zola as well , he said Palace were the better team on the day & deserved to win . |

Not the best time to really play poorly but that is a credit to you guys though.
Good luck in the Premier league - I can see you surprising a few teams who don't fancy a trip to Selhurst and you have that 15 million to spend at least from the Zaha deal (maybe you could get him back on loan..) Play-off teams tend to do better than some of the auto promoted sides and you are a well run club so won't gamble on your future I am sure. Its tricky though itsn't it - already on the other thread people are suggesting you need to spend this and that but as QPR proved it doesn't always work. |

Wow. Great atmosphere and a fantastic performance.
Speroni, Ward, Jedinak - so many heroes, but I thought Delaney and Gabbidon had their best games of the season. And Zaha was causing all sorts of trouble right from the start. He may have had some up-and-down form at times this season, but he's really stepped up in these big games. Days like today don't come around too often. ![]() Edit: ^ Unlucky today Mark. You'll be around the top again next season no doubt. |

Holloway hinted he will not be overhauling his playing squad for the Eagles' Premier League challenge. "How much you spend on your group isn't always what gives you [success]," said Holloway, who was promoted to the Premier League with Blackpool in 2010 but suffered relegation 12 months later. "It's what's inside their hearts and how much they work for you. To me they're Palace heroes." |
