adlene guedioura has been ruled out for up to six weeks through injury. link.

got to admit i don't know much about this karanka guy who seems to be in the running for the vacant manager's spot... but he certainly has much more support on both HOL and BBS than coleman does...

Just been on SSN that Coleman will sit down with the FAW next week to discuss a new 2-year contract.

Let's hope he takes it!

Pardew's odds have suddenly taken a tumble today. down to 5/2 at a couple of bookies. and the rumour mill has really heated up about him.

i wouldn't mind pardew... he's certainly better than some of the names being mentioned. but he would be daft to leave newcastle for us...

meanwhile aitor karanka is flying in for talks... link

the Karanka thing makes no sense to me either.

today's match delayed by 15 minutes due to severe traffic problems in the area.

the line-up:

Speroni, Ward, Gabbidon, Delaney, Moxey, Jedinak, Dikgacoi, Bannan, Thomas, Bolasie, Chamakh.

Subs : Price, Mariappa, O'Keefe, Puncheon, Kebe, Gayle, Jerome.

that's a really good appointment for the club.

0-0 at half-time. we had a very strong final 10 minutes there, can't believe the misses from KG and Chamakh though. will we ever score again?

0-0 at full-time.

our first draw of the season but it should have been a win. we missed some sitters. good to get a clean sheet though for a change.

Damn, if only we'd taken those 3 chances! Definitely a step in the right direction today though.

I like the idea of the new set-up, with Moody plus a manager. It seems to be working at a few other English clubs nowadays.

A much improved all round performance today, once again just missing that cutting edge in front of goal which would have got us the three points.

If we continue to play like that under the new man I will be happy.

So our chance to move off the bottom today disappears as Sunderland beat Man City. Bloody Gus Poyet.

Had a feeling that Sunderland would get something today. Nothing seems to be going our way, not even other results.

thought we played pretty well on saturday... certainly a game i enjoyed for a change. our finishing leaves a lot to be desired though, can't wait for glenn murray to get back, he would have buried those chances.

looks like we may have the new man in charge this week... signs still pointing towards it being karanka.

Looks like Karanka is off to Middlesbrough.

Lord knows where that leaves us?

He'd be great as a first team coach but as manager, I'm not so sure.

Dan Petrescu suddenly second favourite on Oddshecker as I write this. Where did that come from?!

Not going to be Meulensteen. He's joined Fulham as an assistant to Jol.

Maybe I should have applied after all, looks like I would have had a decent shot at it!

Stramaccioni's named is certainly being linked the past couple of days.

I've just been reading up on Petrescu's managerial record - it's actually pretty impressive. A 53.75% win rate and is " regarded as one of the best young coaches working in Russian football." Plus, he obviously knows the English game well. Could be a very interesting choice.

Karenka - Meulensteen - Petrescu, at least the rumours are getting better each day.

Cue us ending up with Pulis...

Well, it's definitely not going to be Chris Coleman as he has now signed a new contract with Wales.

Meanwhile...

Steve Parish admits the Premier League club's search for a new manager has taken longer than expected, but hopes to have a new man installed by the weekend.

The Eagles have been without a boss since Ian Holloway's departure on 23 October, with Aitor Karanka heavily linked with the post before joining Middlesbrough on Wednesday.

Palace have extended their search overseas for Holloway's successor, who will be tasked with lifting the club off the foot of the Premier League and out of the relegation zone.

"We're getting closer," Parish told Sky Sports News. "It's quite fluid at the moment. It's gone on a lot longer than we thought.

"We're talking to lots of people, getting lots of references. We are quite close."

Parish declined to give any names of those being considered, but said there were three applicants on the shortlist.

"It's a difficult decision, and it is important we get it right," he added.

"We thought we would have somebody by Tuesday or Wednesday. That hasn't transpired, but hopefully by the weekend, so they have a good week to work with the players before the (Hull City) game.

"Once we get to the point of making an offer, a decision is made. We are not talking to anyone where finances are a problem.

"It would be nice to do it on Saturday. It depends on complications - where they are physically, location. We've made no no secret... one or two people abroad. All will be revealed soon."
