much better performance than last week, we earned and deserved a point today. to have that happen with the last kick is brutal.

Definitely a better all round performance after the debacle last week. But we got sloppy in the last 10 minutes. Poor passing and giving the ball away cheaply, we just kept inviting them to attack again.

We didn't deserve to lose and especially not like that. I just hope the heads don't drop after that.

So annoyed, after working so hard and doing so well.

After the 3 minutes were over and we possibly should have had a freekick for handball just before as well? That's a bloody gutting way to lose.

8 games left but 3 of them are against Chelsea, Liverpool and City - all going for the title so realistically we have 5 games to save ourselves. Villa at home, Cardiff, Everton, West Ham, & Fulham away. where are we going to win?

We don't score goals, so simple answer is nowhere.

But, if we do somehow start to find the net I'm still thinking 36 points may be enough. The Villa game is a must win, and the Cardiff game in a fortnight is a must not lose. West Ham away is the other where we've got to be looking at nothing less than 3 points now.

Watching it on a live stream, I was under the impression that there would be three minutes of extra time. Yet Cisse scored in the fourth-minute of stoppage time

And I agree with:

http://www.croydonadvertiser.co.uk/N...ail/story.html

CRYSTAL Palace were cruelly denied taking home at least a point from Newcastle United this afternoon when Papiss Cisse popped up with a late, late winning goal.

However, the Eagles were furious with referee Lee Probert as the striker’s header was around 20 seconds over the three added-on minutes.

Pulis made his thoughts known at the end with cries of “over time, over time”, with all of his players completely deflated.

Tony Pulis felt he had a double cause for complaint as the match ticked into a dramatic added time finale – a disallowed free-kick when Mike Williamson appeared to handle the ball and the Cisse header which was timed beyond the extra three minutes allocated by Lee Probert.

It is frustrating but the injury time is minimum time added.

Yeah, exactly. I can understand the frustration from Pulis but he knows as well as anyone he's clutching at straws there. He should be more concerned about dealing with getting this team to score goals.

horrible way to lose yesterday especially after the effort we out in but our inability to score has me thinking more and more that we won't survive.... i look at our remaining fixtures and that combined with how useless we are in front of goal i can't see where we will get the wins to keep us up... it's depressing to say the least...

Finishes goalless.

That was a shocker. Our ineptness in the final third is quite frankly embarrassing at times. Playing for 0-0 draws will not keep us up.
No, but finishing above Sunderland will.

i don't believe it.
So ****ing unfair.

Newcastle fan here! Yea sorry about that. But late late goals is how we win games at St James's at the moment and as has been said, it's a minimum of time added on, not set in stone. Wasn't aware of any handball so will watch out for that one.

Late goals are sickeners but that's football I'm afraid.

wasn't comfortable but at least they won. I fully expect Sunderland to beat West Ham next Monday night, though.

thanks guys! don't blow it against Spurs!

we deserved that today without a doubt. we were brilliant to a man and really should have won by more.

Cardiff & West Brom drawing was a bonus, as was Norwich losing. great day for us.

Nice work! I've been saying for ages that the title contenders would have slip-ups. Didn't really expect your lot to be the ones to bring it but very happy to be proved wrong. Well done!

Great win! Top performance.

We've all been saying for ages that the one thing we have failed to do all season long was get a positive result against one of the big boys but now we've finally done it. Fully deserved, too. Completely agree with Tusk above, every one played their part. Our work rate was phenomenal. The defence and midfield tough and solid and we even showed a lot of intent and purpose going forward. Just some wayward finishing let us down otherwise it would have been a more comfortable three points.

Cardiff up next. A win there and safety will be within our grasp.
