Martin Samuel hitting the nail on the head again regarding the Cardiff issue:
Quote:
“Cardiff City’s espionage complaint to the Premier League is a masterpiece of self-delusion.
Their grievance is that Crystal Palace sporting director Iain Moody, a former Cardiff employee, called in a few favours at his old club and found out their team.
‘Crystal Palace succeeded in their efforts and achieved an unexpected 3-0 win,’ the letter claims.
Unexpected? Cardiff had won a single game since February 1 going into that match, at home to Fulham.
The previous week, Palace had beaten Chelsea, the start of a winning streak that has taken them to mid-table.
Cardiff have fallen from 14th to 18th place, with a brief spell on the bottom; Palace have risen from bottom to 11th. Palace have collected 27 points since the start of December; Cardiff have garnered 14. There was nothing unexpected about Palace’s victory. The only surprise is that the Premier League continue indulging this preposterous whinge.”
