I'm going to take Speroni not playing as a good sign that he is going to sign a new contract. If Pulis knew it was likely to be his last match he would have played him as his farewell.
Enjoyed the game and the day. A shame it wasn't all 3 points, I too can't believe they scored yet another wonder goal against us! Dwight Gayle is class. I really think this kid is going to be the answer up front for us next season. 11th spot, 45 points, 12 clear of the drop zone in the end. I think that constitutes as a damn fine season for us! And to top it all off, Brighton are getting spanked by Derby in the Play-offs! |

Looking forward to being in the top league again later in the year.

Gayle is such a natural finisher. Today was great fun!
And 11th place, who'd have thought that? |

Premier League: Garth Crooks's Team of the Season There have been some notable performances from a number of goalkeepers this season. Julian Speroni's save from Eden Hazard against Chelsea was a turning point in Crystal Palace's season. MANAGER - Tony Pulis (Crystal Palace) Tony Pulis The custom in the Premier League is the manager who wins the title normally wins the manager of the year award. That is not to say I don't acknowledge the success Manuel Pellegrini has had in his first season at Manchester City, or the glorious football displayed by Brendan Rodgers's Liverpool. I only ever have a problem with that premise when the winning manager has a team with the biggest squad, or the most money at his disposal. Tony Pulis has had none of those resources. Most managers demand a budget for transfers you could run the National Health Service on, plus numerous guarantees before they even consider taking a job with far less risk to their reputation than the one that was facing Pulis. What followed in the four months after he took the reins at Crystal Palace was one of the greatest transformations I have ever seen in a football club. We were told that his players were inferior, the fans indifferent and the stadium in disrepair. What Pulis did was inject belief into his players, a sense of real hope into the fans and turned the stadium from a dilapidated arena into a fortress - and all with little money. That is genius, and that is why he is my manager of the season. Did you know? Had the Premier League started the day Tony Pulis managed Crystal Palace for the first time, the Eagles would have finished eighth in the table. |

really had a good day yesterday despite not holding on for the win... it was great seeing gayle get the start and another 2 quality goals from him... next season could be massive for him...
...bit down now it's all over, it's been so good of late i could have happily had another 10 games! but at least we can enjoy the world cup now and also enjoy the fact that brighton failed in the play-offs again!

I was just looking at some stats for this season and our 11th place finish is our third highest ever in the top flight after the 3rd place in 1991 and the 10th place in 1992.
Average home attendance was 24,377, the best it's been since 2005. More reason though to get the ground sorted - if we could establish ourselves in this division we would definitely attract bigger crowds. |

If we are to be an established premier league club then the ground has to be sorted soon. I was at crystal palace park earlier walking the dog, just wish the council would let us build something amazing there. Selhurst park is just no longer fit for purpose in my opinion.

Aside from his debut, we never really got to see the best of Ince. Wouldn't mind us trying to keep him for next season.
In other news, we're off to the States for pre-season. http://www.cpfc.co.uk/news/article/c...r-1556313.aspx Would've made a great holiday, if only I could afford the trip. |

To be perfectly honest I'm not too fussed if we don't sign Ince permanently. I don't think that's an area we're struggling in.
The tour should be good. Hopefully we will have a couple of home games pre-season for a change this time, as well. |

Think he thought he'd set the world alight at Palace and have offers flying in every which way, didn't quite work out like that. He has expressed an interest in coming to Swansea but the majority of fans want him to stay away, would much rather sign Redmond personally. |

Thought Parr might be kept on as back-up. Although I suppose he might not have wanted that.
Hope they find a club quickly. |

Guedioura didn't make the cut for the Algeria squad.
So, that leaves Jedi as our sole representative in Brazil. Hopefully he has a barnstorming tournament even though it's likely to last just the three matches. |

Tom Ince has apparently turned down a move to Inter Milan because he wants to play in the Premier League.
Of course Palace only finished 11th, so may not be a big enough club for him! |

think we've already rejected the option of putting in an offer for him... do we really need him? i don't think so....
