so we've gone from a manager who had never been relegated before in the premier league to a manager who has never stayed up in the premier league... a 65 year old that we've had to coax out of retirement and will only be there for 2 years max...
...are we to really believe that this is the best we could do? |

Awful appointment for you guys, Warnock can get people promoted but has so far failed to keep them up. I would definitely assume relegation is ensuing.

i've said it earlier in the thread - parish has a small club mentality... i get that he doesn't want to make the same mistakes as jordan and goldberg and we're all more than thankful that him and his 3 buddies saved the club but he fails to inspire when it comes to being ambitious... and this appointment sums that up perfectly...

He wasn't who I was expecting you guys to get, I thought Martin Joel might be heading your way.
A friend of mine is a massive Palace fan wont be too happy, he hates Warnock. |

A tad harsh because as far as I know he's only had two full seasons at top flight level, one with Notts County (who were always up against it) and one with Sheff United (and we all know about the Tevez affair) At QPR they were 17th when he was sacked and still had more than a decent chance of staying up at the time.

Maybe he will keep you up, all I'm saying is his reputation certainly wouldn't fill me with confidence if I was a palace fan.
Here's Steve Parish's interview with Jim White on Sky Sports. Link. |

i thought it was a joke when i first heard!
don't get me wrong, I'm one of the few that has always liked Warnock but this appointment has the aroma of desperation. This is a huge step backwards as far as i'm concerned but I will support him 100%. |

It's very easy to say all those positive things about him whilst he has a very easy ride with Rangers in the lower tiers of Scottish football, he completely unproven at anywhere near the top level.
![]() Surprised Colin has been given another chance at the top level tbh - I think the odds on Palace being relegated must have just shortened drastically. |

Think of this as a sweetener from Parish. Who else tho? Think we need at least. 2 more in myself. |

Wilf coming back would be great.
Parish has just been on 5Live and confirmed we are after a left-back before the window closes. |

^ That's good to hear, we definitely need a left-back.
There was still talk of Jack Cork as well, wasn't there? I would like that. |

if zaha comes back then there may not be a place for puncheon anyway...
although i would prefer zaha and puncheon on the wings rather than bolasie... reports suggest that apart from zaha we will be in for a left back, a midfielder and a striker before monday... |

With this I agree:

^ Indeed. There is never any need for that kind of behaviour.
We've drawn Newcastle at home in the next round of the League Cup. |

Warnock was on Talksport this morning. Link.
Confirmed he spoke to Zaha last night and hopes a deal is sorted out today. |
