With the Sugababes releasing a new album in April 2012. When will we likely hear a new single??

I know people dont care to much for the band but they really do need time to build up some of the old fan base and potential new fans too.

Thoughts??

I find it quite sad that you went to such an effort to post utter rubbish!!

I hope their official first single is great.I really liked 'Freedom' and I'm checking for their album and their overall return.I think they're a great pop act

I've always loved Sugababes...

From a fans point of view - Jade replacing Keisha was hard at the time but if 'Freedom' is anything to go by then I'm really excited to hear album number 8...

I have no interest in them anymore :/

I forget about them completely until they're mentioned here and there. For me the only girl band around is the Saturdays.

Freedom was an epic song, if the album is more of the same then i think we're in for a treat (if the new album ever see's the light of day!), you know if its money their worried about they could just whack it on itunes instead of doing a physical release, it'd hurt their sales for sure but they'll lose money from making heaps of phsyicals that no one will buy. UNLESS they can regain some popularity.

If they'd released Freedom when it was originally scheduled... I think Top 3

I think they're going to be ok.I don't see any smashes in the near future, but I think they can pull off a fairly successful album. They just need more media exposure and a more radio friendly song.

I think we'll see some new material during/after Dancing On Ice as Heidi is on it. Apparently Amelle is featuring on another artists song again too.

I hope Heidi does well on the show. It's a great opportunity for her to show a bit of her personality too. This would positively affect the group as well

Heidi has said they're on 'a break', that they 'haven't split up' and they doing their 'own little thing' whilst they have 'a bit of spare time and in a period where they weren't busy anyway'

Draw you own conclusions. I know what mine are ....

I think from Heidis interview we can conclude that if the public reacts well to thier upcoming projects album 8 will rear its head around October/November as opposed to April and if they don't they'll forever be 'concentrating on solo stuff' until enough time has passed to warrant some kind of anniversary gig.

I dont understand why they're having a "break" and its just "spare time", where's the album they've been working on for the past 2 years gone? They talked about it non stop whilst promoting Freedom!

They realised that they only have about 8 fans?

The fact that they had to give their lead single away for free tells you all you need to know about their prospects.

Honestly, the best thing that could happen to Heidi/Amelle/Jade would be for the rumoured reformation of the original Sugababes to happen.

Right now there's simply no interest in the Sugababes brand. Certainly, not with the current line-up. If they release anything, it'll flop hard. If the original Sugas can spark some interest in the brand again, it'll benefit the current line-up as well. They could push the whole "feud" angle, between the new group and the old, and if they are lucky, it might help attract major publicity and feul record sales.

For some weird reason, I actually do wonder if the 4.0 management are actually waiting for Keisha, Siobahn and Mutya to reform, to take advabtadge of the publicity and then release new material with Heidi, Amelle and Jade.

Never gonna happen. Regardless of whether shes healed her rift with Keisha,Siobhan wouldn't make that music again. She's said herself she's donewith the industry. Mutya has all but said the same.

More likely the management are waiting to get the girls some personal fans (see; Cheryl Cole / Girls Alouds last album) and waiting to have a 'comeback' - If Heidi does well on DOI especially after a breakup (wonder why they waited this long toannounce it) she'll just be lapped up by the public.

Please, if she's "healed her rift with Kiesha", the only reason she'd do that in the first place, would be to make the 1.0 reunion a reality.

Siobahn is a muscian. It's in her blood. She can bleat on about leaving the industry all she wants, but like just about every frustated muscian who claims they are "done", if the opportunity comes along to get music out there to willing public, they can very quickly change their minds.

I think Sibohan will defintely be up for it, if the terms are more favorable to her this time. More creative control, no bullying.

CTMG are launching Amelle's solo career first, then coming back to the Sugababes album later this year. The old line-up reforming has nothing to do with it.

First Amelle track is with Bigz. Second one is soon after, and is her debut single.

Or if musics in her blood she'll create it for other artists. Siobhan has spent 9 years (no interviews for last 2) saying she wont do it again.

Let's be real....for a start, for almost all those years, there was no actual demand for her to go back to the group. THe other versions wetre succesful, and she was never needed. Saying in interviews that you won't go back to an old group, where nobody was asking you to come back in the first place, is a bit pointless. It's basically massaging your own ego.

There's only been a realistic demand for her to possibly come back in the last year, since Kiesha left the last line-up. Who knows how her mind is thinking now that it's actually a realistic possibility that she is wanted back, and no longer just something that she had no say in anyway.

It's even sadder that you found the time to post such a horrible remark, and it'll be even sadder if you reply &/or quote this post I've taken the time to put up!

They haven't thrown the album away, they've probably recorded it and now it could be in the mixing/mastering stage, where the band doesn't have to be present, just the producers ("spare time" justified ).They could release one more single, but it would fall flat, so to wait until the buzz is actually there is their best bet and things are looking up since all 3 members will get some shine in the next few months

I think 1.0 will not reform, at least not in the near future, but even if we assume this is a viable option, 2 line-ups releasing music at the same time would most probably destroy both rather than help them.Besides, I still wonder why people are so sure that an 1.0 return will smash in the charts
