No one is denying that if these women are in serious need of medical attention they should have them removed on the NHS but for the ones who aren't in immediate danger they should get them removed by the clinic that fitted them, most should have an aftercare package. Why should the NHS pay for women to get their implants removed when there is no immediate danger, also when the women elected to have them done in the first place. Just the same as why should the NHS pay for any form of plastic surgery unless it is done on medical grounds. If I wanted a breast-reduction I wouldn't be able to get that on the NHS, I would have to go private even though I could very well need one but as they don't affect me medically I won't even qualify for one.

How many women are actually in need of medical attention because of these implants?

Are the removals more about preventing potential problems down the line?

Unless there are quite a few women having health problems in the here and now from these implants, who of course have my sympathy, it seems as though this story is being blown out of all proportion.

Many people are being screwed up quite badly by pharmaceutical drugs for example, yet I don't see news coverage on that all the time.

Are those kind of problems rare for implants?

Well I thought they were but when it happened she looked on the forums she found quite a few.She had to have one removed and left to heal for 18 months.
