Lets hope so, it'll cheer the Mrs up. Dixon is a clueless clothes horse who has about as much dancing knowledge as me.

Why would they want her? She's an embarrassment.

Apparently official confirmation will be after midnight when the press embargo is up...

Seems like a foolish move by her if true

But interesting times ahead for us if it is....who would replace her???

No!!! I love Alesha. She brings glamour to the panel and she has an understanding of what the contestants go through and she has a large score range (unlike Len and Bruno) Just IMO.

If it is true then it is a great start to 2012 - should never been hired in the first place and won't be missed by many. The only thing I can't understand is why BGT would want her - she is not exactly overburdened with talent herself.

Why would any one choose BGT over Strictly? Well, except for money.

Such a shame, she has grown on me each series, by the end of the last one she was my second favourite. I'd laugh if she was replaced by another winner now.

A much more knowledgeable and qualified person hopefully - it is not as if she's indispensable. Erin, Lilia, Camilla, Darcey Bussell, Karen Hardy - anyone of these would be an improvement on Alesha - but so would a monkey.

I'm surprised because when she started SCD everyone was slagging her, but everyone seems to have liked her and respected her this year.

also with SCD beating TXF in ratings this year, you'd think she'd wanna stay on a big show

oh well good luck to her. nice to see she's still working hard even when her music flopped

I'm actually sorry Alesha is going! I think she had become a good addition to the panel and would rather we didn't have any of the names bandied about so far as a replacement. (e.g Karen, Camilla) I wasn't overly impressed with Karen on Choreography Corner so hope she isn't one of the names up for consideration.

I wish people would stop laying into Alesha. She won the show and is the highest-scoring celebrity to have competed. It's not like they got Joe Calzaghe to be a judge. Yes, she's not a professional dancer or judge, but I'd choose her over Len "you came AHT and pickled my walnuts" Goodman any day.

I'm sure this won't convince anyone, but hey.

Camilla has finished her stint in Calandar Girls - and I bet Ian would love to see her back on the show. It would be a fitting reward for a lovely dancer, who is strong on latin and ballroom,. and is a brilliant choreographer.

Karen - well I would be equally as happy for her to be rewarded

Would you think it worth considering another former SCD CELEB as her replacement ?

Would that have been why Zoe was doing ITT?

If not Wouldnt Darcy be a bit of a coup ?

Darcy lives in Australia - that would be out of the question for about four months- the expense of it.

Zoe is better suited to ITT - where she can be herself without having to worry about judging.

With a bit of luck it will be a pro dancer

Darcey Bussell was a rubbish judge. They need to refresh at least one of Bruno/Len too.

BBC comment on @AleshaOfficial leaving Strictly : “We wish her all the best. She has done three very successful series with us." (tbc)

BBC Strictly statement (cont).... " & we look forward to announcing our new line up in due course.”

Big mistake for her IMO.

I hope they don't consider Karen Hardy. She knows what she's talking about, but she's annoying.

Oh god please not Camilla

Indeed - hasn't she been following the antics of Simon Cowell at all?? Let's hope she has a fall back plan when it all goes 'Cheryl Cole'.
Simon loves to play these games - there will be lots of stories in the press, Alesha promised a wonderful career - then, when it all comes to nothing, it will be ' nothing was set in stone' etc etc. Maybe SC thinks he is gettig one over on SCD by 'stealing' her, doesn't he know that she isn't that popular with the public?

It wouldn't surprise me if Alesha Replaces Kelly on X Factor as well

Has Rupert Murdoch already started hacking twitter accounts?

Who has confirmed she has quit? Why would she? The programs do not even clash at all so why can she not do both? If this is true that is.

Surely she does not have a handcuffs deal with the BBC so is free to take on other work as she sees fit.
But going on past history why would you take the place of a 4th judge on a show that proved it clearly did not work with 4 judges unless you had a contract stating you would not be the one to go if 4 did not work.

I agree. Big, big mistake.

Strictly doesn't pay its judges a lot compared to other similar programmes, so I can see why she was lured by the offer of £££ from ITV like Christine Bleakley, Adrian Chiles and many others before her. But it never ends well. She has effectively severed her ties with the BBC who have been very good to her, and Simon Cowell is known to be quite ruthless and may just be doing this to weaken the Strictly panel. He got rid of BGT "new judge" Kelly Brook after a few shows (and Cheryl Cole on US X Factor) so who's to say he won't do the same to Alesha?

There's really no need to resign from Strictly as there is no overlap between the two shows, but ITV and SC would have made leaving Strictly a condition of their offer.

And a massive NO to Karen or Camilla. They may stick to their previous winner theme and hire Jill Halfpenny.

Karen Hardy as a judge has been suggested many times on various message boards, but I agree that she can be annoying in as much as she goes on & on & on.........
They should bring Arlene back, but doubt they will, or that she would accept.

Thankfully I don't watch Britain's Got Talent.

As for Alesha doing both SCD and BGT once she signs for BGT (if she does) there is no chance the Beeb will renew her contract for SCD.

Would love to see Ian as the 4th judge then replace with Len with a professional femalr/
