Everyone vote on this poll (http://t.co/ODOSNSqx) for who you want to be Alesha's replacement.

Will be interesting to see who's the most popular.

Yes - if its true probably a big mistake. Strictly will run for years - and she could have remained a judge on it.

Simon soon gets bored of his judges though - so Alesha will do well to survive beyond one series. Look at what happened to our Cheryl!

Was hoping Dannii Minogue would get the BGT gig - she is a lot more articulate and has experience from the Aussie show.

Loving the Camilla Parker Bowles option!

I think she'll be more suited to BGT. On the Strictly panel I always felt like she was out of her comfort zone next to the other judges.

Yes I too think Alesha is better suited to BGT. No technical expertise is really required.

I think it's a certainty that she's joining BGT panel... good move! SCD is a massive show but would the audience buy her records?

Oh-my-God. Best news of this year, last year and practically any other year. Goodbye you over promoted talentless muppet. You should have gone after the first show.

Is it actually confirmed that she is joining BGT? Holden won't be pleased to have another woman on the panel I bet!

I'm not. Marginally worse than Alesha for me and that's saying something.

I'm quite sad to hear this, I liked her on Strictly and I thought her juding improved in the last two series'.

Sorry to read your comment. We don't need glamour on the panel - the whole show is glamour. And I am so tired of hearing that she brings the contestants point of view. What is that exactly other than 'I could tell you WOZ nervous' on repeat play? I want to hear about the dance moves - learn things I don't know and hear from the experts how the novices have interpreted them.

Wonder if we could persuade her to take Len with her?

I disagree. She might have wanted to do other things but the statement they've put suggests to me that they didn't fall over themselves to keep her.

Apart from her constantly agreeing with the others on technical matters and just saying ' you were fantastic' I picked up a couple of other things from 2011 series.

Her overmarking of Russell Grant was embarrassing and attempts to talk up Jason Donovan and Holly Valance from the quarter final onwards rather than Harry and Chelsee was a mistake. I suspect this 'popstar' affinity had something to do with it.

She made it too obvious who she favoured and neither of those were genuine contenders to win. It's also why having a popstar on the panel is a mistake.

No! Shall I go on? How about failed singing something or other? Can't caller her a singing sensation 'cos Lulu has that snapped up, and legend might be a bit OTT!

Alesha was never hired for her 'technical expertise' she was a voice of the public, she understood the process and proved herself as a damn good panelist

By giving 10s for routines where there were mistakes just because she fancied them and they were "fierce"?

This is the Alesha wrote off Jason completely in the run-up to the finals right? Who gave Chelsee and Harry both only one mark below a 10 from Movie Week onwards?

I don't know if this link has already been posted - the thread is moving so fast LOL but here's more confirmation.

Sorry - I'm a massive ballet fan and go whenever I can, but I didn't think Darcey worked at all on SCD. She comes from a completely different world and just looked out of place. Think she was a bit of a distress purchase when Alesha was so obviously going down like a lead balloon.

I quite liked Alesha and her chemistry with the other judges. I hope she's not made a mistake; it'll be Christine Bleakley all over again!

As for her replacement, well that leaves the panel with 3 white males. Will the whole panel be refreshed to be more diverse? I'm sure that was one of the reasons for adding Alesha in the first place - young, pretty, mixed race etc

Go on.....you made me giggle.

I can't think of one single positive feature about her and her judging role. I still fume that Arlene, with all her years of skill, talent and knowledge was sacrificed for that inarticulate, unprofessional common chav.

Might be a sensible move on Alesha's part - those arguing Strictly is more loyal than Cowell might want to ask Arlene, or Ian, or Matthew, or Darren, or Lilia, or Brian, or Hayley, or Jared... - with Simon back on the panels the press are probably going to be back onside with his programmes this year, and will push them back up to better ratings again. He's also got a very good track record of pushing women of mediocre talents (Cheryl, Dannii, Tulisa, Amanda ****ing Holden) to national celebrity and success via promoting them on his shows as judges. The only real disaster stories for female judges from his shows are Kelly Brook, and possibly Kelly Rowland, who was dreadful on a level that Alesha can only imagine.
