Would dancing be stereotyped gay if Ian was to replace Len?

This thread could cause a lot of controversy, and I want to set out straight before I start that I am not homophobic but a lot of people have been saying Ian Waite should replace Len and I am wondering if anyone thinks that the panel needs one straight judge because, ignorant people would turn on the TV, see three gay men and turn it off again, seeing dancing being for gays. Does anyone see where I'm coming from?

It's a good question which would never have occurred to me. But, I think the answer is yes, they probably wouldn't go for three gay men.

you make an interesting point, but how would ignorant viewers know they were all gay? there isn't exactly a sign in front of them labelling them as gay

Absolutely. I mean Craig and Bruno never ever camp it up, do they?

And Bruce doesn't constantly make comments about their being gay either, does he?

Ooh well I never - I would never have guessed that Bruno or Craig were Gay had it not been for this thread - is it common knowledge?

You've got a point, but otherwise I wouldn't mind Ian replacing Len at all! Although I'd rather have him replace Bruno.

At the moment the stereotype you could draw from three of the four judges is 'don't know what they're talking about'. Ian could only improve things surely.

I'd love to see Ian Waite as a judge. He doesn't go on and on in a camp way so that would make a change from having to listen to it from others. He'd have plenty of informed comment about the dancing, instead.

Had no idea Bruno was gay. But it could be worse Imgaine Louie Spence of Pineapple studios as a judge

Stereotyped? Only by people such as yourself. Most of us don't care.

It's 2012. Time to join the real world.

I wouldn't care either, if only they'd stop going on and on with the campery. I don't care what, their orientation is - it's fine for it to be relevant but not for it to be an almost non stop advertisement.
