Is their an easy way of doing this? I have music playlists etc all created on my android phone, I bought a bigger SD card and don't want to have to set up playlists etc again, any way of just transferring from the old card to new?

I upgraded from the supplied-with-phone 2GB microSD to an 8GB one. I simply copied all the files from the old to the new on a Windows PC, this included installed apps.
The phone with the new card worked exactly as before but with extra 6GB space.

I did pretty much the same, copy contents from old card to new card. Insert new card in phone and boot up the phone. It should work as before, but with more free space.

The only issue you have to be aware of is cards below about 4GB may well be SD and those 4GB and above are almost certain to be SDHC. While they are physically identical they are not 100% compatible with each other.

A card reader designed only for SD will not read a SDHC card (usually anyway). That applies to the card reader in the phone as well as any you use to copy the contents of the old card over to the new.

Apart from that as previous posters have said should just be a case of pop the old card in a PC card reader, copy the content to the PC. Pop the new card in the reader and copy the stuff back.

Just don't chuck the old card away or re-format it immediately however, just in case!

Just plug in the phone via usb and set it up for Mass storage. Copy the entire card to a backup folder on the PC, remove the phone, replace old card with new and then plug phone back into Pc as mass storage again,. Copy back. Don't need any specialist card readers.

Do you mean the specialist ones available on Amazon for 50p delivered?

Well, to be fair, it doesn't matter if they are turn up for free under your pillow every morning. The query posed by the OP does not require a specialist card reader. If the OP decides to get a card reader great, but there is no need for one.
