I think Daniel, Matt and Brianne have got the best ones, and sadly Vicky, Matt and Lukasz have got the bad ones.

And who the hell is Brooke that is skating with Corey?

Brooke Castile is an American pro & she did Skating With The Stars in America.

I'm a bit confused to why Lukasz has got a mediocre (well, probably) celebrity again - he showed how good he was on the DOI tour. And Brianne has got her third contender in three years!

I suppose the photo of Sylvain was taken before he was replaced by Andrei.

Thanks. That solves the mystery of the missing professional then!

This is a really good line-up

I can see Chemmy being a contender for the win.

Until we see them skating we don't know although you are almost certainly right about poor Lukasz. But I think there's a good number that have good credentials on paper but until we see them on the ice there's no telling.

I find it funny how some pros seem to get the same sort of partner each year:

Dan always has an ex/current soap star
Matt G is on his second "blonde bombshell" now

Judging by the pairings, I think this is what the producers will expect:

The good ones:
Jennifer
Heidi
Jorgie
Andy
Sebastien

The average ones:
Charlene
Chesney
Matthew
Andy W
Mark

The not-so-good ones:
Rosemary
Chemmy
Laila
Corey
Sam

Although - this line-up makes only 15 people: surely it should be an even number?

EDIT: With where I've put them, it seems the same pros keep making it to the latter stages now - I can see Heidi or Jorgie being a shock exit though a la Jennifer Metcalfe last year.

Think Strictly had the better line-up.

This Line up is good by Dancing on Ice standards. Laila to win.

Trying not to have naughty thoughts about Jorgie Porter.

Nope. Not working, she is damn fine

Poor Mark and Lukasz - Mark's second no hoper running, and how many duffers does Luc have to partner before he gets a contender???

I'm a bit disappointed. Strictly always has starry names, but Dancing On Ice rely on C List celebs.

Sam and Mark never does anything separately. I've always loved Chesney Hawkes so I'm pleased to see him in the line-up, I don't know if he'll be any good though and I'm glad that Matt Evers has got Jorgie because I love her in Hollyoaks

I would imagine part of it is that it is very easy to make a fool of yourself as it is a lot more difficult than dancing, but more importantly you can injure yourself very easily. Most decent celebs with regular work probably don't want to risk that.

Personally, I'd move Matt Wolfenden (former dancer and gymnast) in to the good category, Charlene Tilton into the not-so-good category and Chemmy Alcott into the average category. I think Rosemary Conley might well surprise us too and be better than expected.

I think it's a good line-up, and better than last year's. The absence of WAGs makes me happy.

I think it is potentially a bit naff to have both Sam and Mark on the line-up, presumably for some contrived rivalry, but I like them both and they've done well for themselves on kids tv.

It's inspired casting to have Chemmy and Sebastien on the line-up. I like that DOI goes for these sorts of less obvious celebrities who are nevertheless worthy of the star status awarded to people with a lot less going for them.

It does seem a bit odd that Chesney is on the line-up when last year Faye from Steps was considered not famous enough to be more than a reserve, but perhaps Chesney was the reserve. Still, I always thought the teen fans and press were unfair to him back in the day, so I'm pleased for him to be getting a chance now.

I think this is a really good line up for DOI, it's even got Mouth from The Goonies

Looking forward to seeing Big Mo take to the ice
