Should the BBC go the whole hog and ditch Brucie for Paul O'Grady or Alan Carr?

Alesha leaving has given them the perfect excuse to reinvent the show for a new generation now. We all agree Brucie's jokes are dying on their arse. Someone like Alan or Paul could totally refresh the show.

You have just ruined my breakfast! The thought of the atrocious and appallingly stupid Alan Carr with that utterly ridiculous voice is just beyond words.

Or should I have gone the whole hog and said 'Hi Terry?'

Sacking Bruce would probably kill him. Not exaggerating.

I agree. I don't think even the BBC is big enough to tackle this one. Terry Wogan on Desert Island Discs was a master class in how to step back gradually and graciously, but then I don't think his whole ego is bound up with being on stage like Bruce's is.

I agreer as well - TW knew when to call it a day, and as a result gained wide appreciation for his limited media outings (and a lot more time with his family) but BF seems to live for the spotlight, and not to have - or to want - any life outside 'Me and my wonderful career'

What they said ^^^^^^ quadrupled.

Alan Carr - about as funny as really bad toothache, appaling voice and looks like he needs a good slap

Paul O Grady possibly - he's funny, can think on his feet and is used to live telly presenting - but NO! NO! a thousand times NO to the irritating and very unfunny Alan Carr.

I'd even prefer another 5 series of Brucie than one with AC - and as I loathe Brucie - that's saying something!

Oh dear!

Give us all a break, not again!

How many times does the BBC have to say it and it gets reported on here?

it isn't going to happen!

And why is that a problem to you? It's his life, he can do what he wants and if working hard is what he wants then fine. I'm in my 30s and I'd take Bruce every time over most of the innacurately described "talent" (aka dross) on television right now. You don't have to be a pensioner to appreciate what Brucie brings to the table. I actually completely disagree, the show is very little about Bruce and he's the glue that holds it together in an entertaining way.

I don't think this poster said it was a problem for them. They are simply commenting.

The public agree nothing of the kind. Nor does everyone here. Alan Carr is painful and knows sfa about presenting a show never mind dancing. O'Grady is contracted to ITV.

As an example of rather tedious unoriginal thread imo
