They've actually howled at every new judge they ever had - Dannii Minogue, Cheryl Cole and Tulisa. I think Kelly Rowland was the only one unscathed. Look how it turned out.

I actually honestly think Alesha is a better 'fit' on BGT than SCD. She will be far better judging light entertainment than choreography.

It's not hard to be a judge on BGT

XFACTOR and SCD on the other-hand require skill as you need to know ballroom as well as mentor acts etc..

Oh dear just because you haven't heard about it, it must be wrong.

Alan Carr's New Year Show - It was a question on the quiz. That's when it was said. Alesha was actually there. The contestant picked Alesha and was right. Is that good enough for you?

My bad?
She must have been so embarrassed when they picked her name.

I think he may have just used that as an excuse to get rid of Kelly Brook who wasn't working out. If Alesha doesn't work out he'll probably use that excuse again. Then again, is it going to be the same format as last year anyway, when he wasn't there for the auditions & only did the live shows (when it went to 4 judges)

Simon Cowell is returning as a full time judge for the series.

The problem on Strictly was Alesha was giving her critical judgements on very precise professional dances, and yet apart from being a contestant and yes....winner.....she had no training or years experience and expertise on the subject. She gave comments every week that quite frankly any of us as viewers could have given, without any background in the skill. "You've got great potential" " "I just love watching you on the dancefloor".

On BGT.... all she has to do is give a judgement on ordinary joes coming out murdering some song, or juggling bananas or whatever marvellous skill they think they have. Its not a precise skill that she would require years experience or training in to be validated as a judge. Anyone could do BGT !!!! The fact she is in showbiz is enough !!

Its certainly a big coup for her money wise..... no doubt about it, and anyone would jump at the chance of moving their salary from 100K to 300K !!!!

As for the pedigree of the two shows...........its like comparing Harrods to Primark ! She was lucky enough to be working in Harrods, but Primark have come up with a massive pay rise. I think I could grin and bear it !

I was with you right up until the Harrods/Primark comparison. Strictly is hardly Harrods when you have some camp oaf like Russell Brand being shot from a cannon. Please.

Actually I think she would have been ok on the X-Factor too - she is a singer so knows music and I think she could have been a mentor. She'll be fine on BGT talent - my only worry pointless as she was as a judge on SCD Jennifer Grey showed that there are worse people out there. Beeb you have an opportunity to replace her with someone who has a clue about ballroom dancing don't put another celeb ex-contestant on there. You can also bring back Matt Cutler if you want to as well.

You must have been watching a different programme, she often gave more precise comments than that as opposed to the one supposed "expert", Len, who would just make a joke before giving seven points. The other two "experts" (though not from the world of ballroom or Latin) would often not make any specific comments and people here, more knowledeable than me, seem to suggest that Craig is often incorrect in his comments.

Alesha Dixon knows more than the 3 other judges about dance?

She had help.
