Agreed, a few dozen people on Digital Spy who write message after message moaning about most people on TV does not mean the public in general do not like someone. I have never seen any sign of her getting a hostile response from the public on a programme.

Now we're getting surreal. At the most there are five hundred people in the studio. How on earth can you compare that with the outpourings of the general public? We can all disagree whether we like her or not, but all the evidence is that generally speaking she was not popular with SCD viewers.

Fair enough BGT has a younger audience, but would you really leave the BBC to work with Cowell especially with his background with other ''female talents'' he has ''nurtured''.”

Oh please nothing. People haven't stopped moaning about her and looking back, I remember when all 4 judges including Arlene where getting a bit too heavy with John Sargent and Arlene threw whatever she was holding down on the table in disgust after one of his dances. It was his fault that he kept on getting chosen by the public and all 4 judges where getting a bit too picky back then.

On her leaving, remember Brucie himself has been at the Beeb and back as well.

Isn't joining BGT a risk for her though? Cowell said the show doesnt work with 4 judges after he got rid of Brook.
What i am thinking is if he gets rid of her after one series, what will she have to fall back on? There is no way BBC will take her back and i think the public will feel more ''serves her right'' or ''she should have stuck with the BBC'' rather than feel sorry for her, which again goes against her. Christine Bleakley left The One Show for a higher salary but it really did backfire on her.

Again this is all ifs and buts and maybe Alesha will get a storming career fromt BGT but i must say, she is taking a huge risk, leaving a stable show with a good salary to join a rival show, with a huge salary but at the same TIME, is very unreliable and is headed by a man who sacks his panel when he feels like it.....to create publicity.

Whatever happens, I think she will be fine one way or the other. She should be cafreful with her money generally. Cowell might leave after one year leaving it to the rest of them, and that could work. I'm not sure Walliams will stay for that long but don't mind if he does.

Aye.

Personally i predict this will backfire mainly because 4 judges doesnt work and also i have my suspicions that he is hiring her, simply to get one over on SCD which had a good year last year.

What evidence? The posters on this forum? That's hardly the whole gamut of "SCD viewers" is it? Most viewers of shows like SCD and DOI don't read and post on internet forums day after day, they simply watch and enjoy the shows and make up their own minds.
A perfect example is how popular and favoured Chelsee was on this forum during the last series, and yet "the SCD viewers" preferred Harry on the night of the Final.

I was never a fan of Alesha's dancing and didn't vote for her when she was a contestant. However she has been a breath of fresh air as a Judge, overcoming a nervous start in the gale of unprecedented criticism before the first show even took to air! She's frequently the only Judge who smiles at the contestants and says something encouraging, which the pros certainly appreciate, whilst the other 3 Judges belittle their celebs. She always looks glamorous and beautiful, which matters on TV. But most of all she spared me from having to endure the godawful Norma Desmond clone that is Arlene Phillips. How soon posters on here forget how she letched after certain male contestants - not in a silly way like Bruno and Craig - but in a deeply unpleasant way and showed favouritism to contestants. She would also get her words muddled and sound ridiculous whilst trying to make a pre-planned quip, and make very unfounded and unfair criticisms. Who can forget her total attack against the eventual winner Charlie in the first series of SYTYCD in the semi-final - accusing her of not having any timing and slamming her abilities, whilst showing total favouritism towards the hip hop dancer.

So what you seem to be saying there is that you would do it for the money, just as those others did what they did for the money. In other words, money takes precedence, aka "doing it for the money".

What evidence? I must have missed it. Maybe there was a groundswell of opinion against her amongst those who bothered to post on DS, but as for the other 10 million or so viewers .......

Fair play to her I say and I wish her luck. I'd much rather work with Simon Cowell than any of the SCD judges.
As to Christine leaving BBC and not doing well on ITV, well she might not have the early morning slot any more but she's landed a gem of a role as co host of Dancing On Ice. I'd say she's done ok for herself actually.

Yes, but I put a positive spin on it. Money grabbing sounds sooo negative. Like something from a Brucie 1970's game show.
As motives go, money is a very strong one.
Is it a wise move? I don't know. I've never seen BGT or any other SC show. No ITV over here.

Well you don't know much about TV then.

You may love Simon Cowell but not everybody does.

I don't think that Alesha was ever popular, but she was better in this series after two horrendous ones.

I am delighted that she has gone but do hope that we don't get another in the same mould as Alesha

Simon Cowell wanted her though. She must be popular.
