All the names batted around for Alesha's replacement have either been former contestants/professionals from SCDs past, or celebrities who are contracted to the BBC- and as much as I'd love David Attenborough to be a dancing judge, and finding Anton Du Beke in his natural habitat and whatnot, maybe we should broaden our horizons?
Is there anyone reasonably well known in dance away from Strictly/DWTS who might do a job? Obviously Louie Spence (oh dear GOD no!) and Darcy's names have been raised, but anyone else in that similar vein? Maybe going back to someone not on the front line of the press, like Craig, Arlene, Len and Bruno all were back at the start...

We wouldn't really know about them if they weren't famous, would we? Arlene was the exception, pretty well known long before Strictly.

As long as you are using the phrase 'world of dance' loosely, I think Lulu pretty much fits the bill. Scottish singing sensation ticks the diversity box, established star (so she says) can dance (but only on her own) and looks forever young.
