Best/Worst PAYG

I think the best PAYG is ASDA mobile- but I'm looking to migrate from them in order to get a new mobile for a decent price. And I'm a little wary of some of the networks- like they bump up internet prices as part of their package, or there's some PAYG networks that you top up £10 PAYG and that's to be used in a month. Which is kind of sneaky.

Any PAYG phone people to stay away from?

I'm happy with O2.

If I put £10 on I get something like 500 free texts and 500Mb of internet usage. Those allowances run for a month and then after that I'm paying out of the £10 until I top up again. For me that suits fine. I'll probably only end up putting £50 in the phone to run it for a year.

For PAYG, Giffgaff is worth a look. Their usual PAYG prices are among the cheapest, but it's when you go for their Goodiebags it really pays off. Even the £10 one gives you 250 mins, unlimited texts and unlimited internet. That's hard to beat.

Biggest downside is it uses the O2 network whose 3G coverage is a bit meh!

Asking "best/worst PAYG" is like asking how long a piece of string is, it depends what you want from it.

For example, if you want lots of data, the only ones worth looking at are giffgaff and Three (being aware giffgaff runs on O2 so 3G "may" be an issue). If you want low standard rates Tesco Mobile's Lite tariff is hard to beat... and so on.
