I think much of Artem's choreography is a bit beyond most SCD contestants, he was fortunate in getting Kara in paticular and to some extent Holly too in that through them he could show it off. I would be really interested (and I don't mean this in any cynical way) to see how he coped with someone who could not manage that level of complexity and artistry. IMO there is as much merit in being able to choreograph simply and beautifully to the level of someone less able, as people like James are particularly good at IMO. So in summary I hope he stays and is given someone with less natural ability to start with.

i don't think Holly had that much ability, I never thought she had that much ability. I think Artem choreographed amazingly to hide her flaws. She was appalling in hold, so he did as much as he could get away with out of hold, her posture was terrible so he slowed the routine right down and got her to stretch and elongate herself in a balletic way.

I really think if Holly had one of the more traditional choreographers like James she could have been one of the first out, but because Artem's choreography was so inspired, you forgot about how average a dancer Holly was.

Just my tuppence worth.

I would hate Strictly without Artem now, his dance routines are one of the major reasons why I watch.

I didn't think this was a thread simply for serious dancers. I take the dancing seriously and love to have professional judges, but surely these threads can be both entertaining and serious? Don't lets slap down humour

All very fair comments, Alli. I do wonder how he'd have gone on on trying to choreograph someone with perhaps even less ability, like Alex, though (or as a more extreme example, Edwina).

Artem works as hard as any of the pros so i wouldn't want him out. I would like to see him cope with a weak dance partner- he kind of had to with Holly, who had her great and her weak moments, and I don't feel they worked that well as a pair. also, he can be a bit miserable, as another poster mentioned.

He's getting hurt a lot, I wonder how much of it is his bad judgement of his partners abilities.

From the rehearsal footage that they showed of Artem injuring his back in the Jive he leapt off the stage and did a forward roll. I dont think that had anything to do with misjudging Holly's ability as she was not involved at all. All dancers get injured it just seems as if Artem's injuries are related to SCD and it is just bad luck rather than bad judgement

Did Artem have a back injury last year as well ? I think he did.

Thanks for that. Am not a massive Artem fan but I'm very glad that the injury isn't a recurring one, which could be a huge problem for him.

He has the worst set of false teeth on the show...

Really? Perhaps I've never got close enough to notice.

So Pros should only be on SCD if they're single?

You do know there are other shows that would fit this bill more don't you? In case you don't know, Strictly is a dance programme, not a dating show. If you're only watching SCD for the romance, you should probably get out more.

No way ! He is the best choreographer and probably the best pro dancer. Despite the height problem he did well with Holly and in another year they would have been worthy finalists.

So if it is true that a romantic love interest is needed to keep someone in the show, then surely we can get shot of Bruce F since he's unlikely now to split from Wilnelia to come out about his passionate desire for Tess.

I would have thought Tess was a bit old for Bruce. Perhaps it is Ola he lusts after.

What is this obsession with 'love interest'. I watch the show because I love to watch the dancing, there can be chemistry between the partners without any love interest. Sorry, I just don't understand the need for romance in the show.
