What a strange question OP. It's almost like asking how did Cheryl Cole become an X Factor judge.

I liked Alesha when she won. Then I went off her when she popped up for interviews and appearances and turned out to be very dull. She never had anything interesting to say, turning on the raucous laugh instead of making comments.

I know SCD is an entertainment show - the public votes for their favourite dancer, not the best. So it would be great to balance this by having judges who actually know about, and pay attention to how good the standard of dancing is.

Put it down to the shallowness of modern celebrity and tv shows desperate for headlines/publicity

Because Cowell wanted the publicity. Poaching from the programme that beat XF in the ratings will have been a very welcome bonus. Especially if it's true that the BBC had already said they weren't planning to alter the SCD judging panel for 2012.

If he thinks it isn't working for BGT he'll drop her like a hot coal - just ask Kelly Brook.

Alesha becomes Strictly judge - ??
Alesha goes to a Simon Cowell 'talent' show - ho hum.
Who cares? if she has to be replaced, they're about as likely to get anyone sensible in as they are not to shoot a fat old man out of a glitter cannon.
Liked the Nancy Rhumba stuff though.

Maybe he think Alesha is very popular with the public and he wants to manage her career

Maybe he knows Alesha is very popular and this will be a good move for both of them. Personally, I will miss Alesha on SCD. I only hope they will choose someone young and vibrant to replace her.

Maybe, if:

1. He's deluded
2. He thinks thirty-something is young
3. He is scraping the bottom of the barrel.

Please tick which you think applies to the rather successful Mr. S. Cowell.

Only if:

1. He's deluded
2. He thinks over thirty is young
3. There is absolutely no-one else in the world to manage.

Please tick which of the above you think applies to the rather successful Mr. S. Cowell
