He was amazing. Deserves more recognition than he gets.

I prefer early Elvis to any of his contemporaries, but admit he did "sell out" after he came out of the army. For very sad reasons, both Buddy Holly and Eddie Cochran didn't get a chance to "sell out". Buddy was more prolific and adventurous, but in terms of pure hard-edged rock 'n' roll few could come close to Eddie.
Eddie's music was also way ahead of it's time. I remember putting on Eddie's version of either "C'Mon Everybody" or "Something Else" on a jukebox back in the eighties, and some people got really enthused about it, convinced it was the Sex Pistols, and wouldn't be told that it wasn't or that the recording actually dated back to the late fifties. |

Gene Vincent and Eddie Cochran were the 2 best rockabilly artists.of the era. Nice to see PJ Harvey recently giving a nod to Eddie in her song The Words That Maketh Murder.(3 mins in).

Absolutely brilliant artist. Try Cherished Memories or Weekend -both tremendous songs.
