I must confess the thought passes through my mind when he's stuttering.... I notice he's not allowed on the stairs anymore.

But I don't think so - he'd have to have many medical checks for insurance and he himself has said he'll only go on if he feels he can. Tommy Cooper was seriously ill and by some accounts barely able to walk.

Plus there's usually a 10 second delay in relaying live broadcasts so you'd never see it if it did happen. Which I hope it doesn't!

The stairs will be no problem in the next series.

"I'm reliably informed" that a stair-lift will be installed in time.
