Survivor: One World - Season 24

Wasn't sure where to post this, but a rumored cast list has leaked, so I decided to start the new thread if that's okay!

The supposed cast is pictured in Post 12 of the following thread on another forum. Be warned, this is apparently a spoiler thread, though from what I can see there's nothing that we didn't already know in the first twelve posts. I don't think there are any game spoilers yet, but this is the cast.

http://www.rtvgames.com/showthread.php?t=38649

I'm excited already!

Hmmm. Few too many MTA's for me. Though Cochran and Rick were avid fans and look at how boring they were.

I'm sure those are just bad shots of the cast, but yikes!

I'm definitely getting more excited about this 'one beach' thing. Sometimes the tribe seperation is so frustrating that I just look ahead to the merge after a couple of weeks. Plus the game's getting a bit too safe nowadays, everyone is sticking to their tribe and not daring to make alliances with anyone else. The few that do (Cochran) look like boneheads who made a foolish mistake.
Now they can make alliances with those on the other tribe before they even merge.

First impressions. I like Matt from the boys (I have a thing for hot attourneys).

Chelsea from the girls. Cute Southern blonde of the season and she's a sales rep so will be good talker. Something about Sabrina's eyes tells me she might be crazy yet entertaining.

Looks good to me! I'm just excited for a season with no returning players and no redemption island!

Great minds think alike. Matt leapt out for me. And one is a male Scout? Looks more like hillbilly Twila to me. I liked Scout.

I agree about Sabrina, something a little strange about her. Not quite in the Naonka league, but you never know. Kimberley looks like the all American girl who sticks to the rules and is sweet.

Loving the idea of the one beach. Have they ever done that since those couple of days in Thailand?

Well Sabrina looks a bit like Omarosa and lists herself as a Public Speaker. It does suggest unhinged. Kimberly just looks like Corinne to me which makes me think she is evil.

I am excited for this season though!

They did that two tribes living on one beach for a couple of days in Thailand, were everyone assumed it was a merge and lead to Shi-Ann's downfall.

And the very beginning of Palau had everyone living on the same beach, and from what I can remember they had the choice to either stay all together on the one beach, or split up.

The choice wasn't to split or not - the winning tribe got to pick which beach each tribe would live on. They chose to move to the unseen beach, which turned out to be the worse of the two.

Oh gawd, I remember that. AND they lost the flint to the bottomof the sea didn't they?Luckily someone was able to dive and recover it later.

The one I hated, and they've never done it again, thank goodness, was Fiji, where they all built a magnificent architect designed shelter, before being split as Rich/Poor.

A closet survivor fan here. I have seen every season of it so far. Think its a great show. Pitty it only ran for a couple of season here in the UK.

For those interested, there is Survivor India currently being aired on one of the Asian channels (star plus - sky number 784). Its basically survivor, but done by India. Same format etc as the US version.

Cheers for that. As an avid Survivor nut,I'll watch any version I can get my hands on,though none of them are on a par with the US one.

There aren't any subtitles available unfortunately. Was trying to watch it, but you can't really get to know people when you have no idea what they are saying!

Gawd, are ALL the women young and wearing bikinis. Where are the Janes and the Hollys?

This sounds interesting:
Quote:
The way hidden immunity idols are played will also be different in season 24. This time, there will be two idols hidden at the camp — one for each tribe — but finding your tribe’s idol does not guarantee your safety. Instead, as Probst explains, “When you find the idol, you can’t use it for yourself. You have to give it to someone from the other tribe.” The trick will be picking the right person to give it to, and perhaps getting concessions in return — not to mention lobbying for the other team’s idol once someone finds it.
Liking what I'm reading so far. Roll on Feb 15th.

This has promise. I really like the idea of them practically forcing alliances to be formed between the men and the women. The "merge" this season could potentially be awesome!

Sounds interesting, although I would like a bit of clarification about 'have to give it'. Do you 'have to'? If so is there a time period involved? I.e. you find the idol, you have to give it within say 48 hours, do you have to give before the merge? do you have to give it before the final tribal council where it can be played? What happens if you dont hand it over?

I reckon it just means you can't use the idol on yourself. In a sense you have to give it to someone else at TC.

That's how I read it. Like with the clue to the II in China, you had to give it to the other tribe when you were sent to their camp.

And also the infamous way James had 2 idols still in his pocket when he was voted out.

Thanks for that.

An update on the Indian survivor. Its not as bad as I thought it would be. It is somewhat watered down. Prize for winning is Rs10 000 000 (approx £128k). They were given a hammer, machete, string, two spare pairs of clothing, rice and lentils. There is a team of celebrities (z-listers probably) against non-celebs. 11 players per team. The teams seem evenly matched of the episodes I have watched, with the challenges being won equally. There is only one challenge per episode, the winner wins a reward and immunity. No blind sides yet.

With the exception of Kourtney, the younger women seem abit samey. Last season was good because they seemed to cast contestants who were genuinely interested in the show. Kourtney's bio is abit intense - as if she's come on the show to resolve certain issues as much as anything else.
