Decent festive fortnight for BBC1 really, despite everything that has been said about ITV's better showing. Downton aside (essentially a displaced final episode of the series), and Coro St and EmFm both running strong festive storylines unusually, there is no other ITV showing in the whole fortnight. 17 out of 20 shows on BBC1, with others "bubbling under" before you get down to ITV's next entry.
The Queen's Speech would have made the top 20 for its BBC1 showing in its own right (6.69m).
Conclusion? The Beeb still owns Christmas, despite what the toffs in that big house with the gigantic Christmas tree might think...
