Yes, and I know we're always talking about Tuesdays on ITV but Thursday on BBC1 is similar in terms of the competition as they only have 'stEnders while ITV have two Emmerdales and the Corrie (which is surely far fiercer competition than Holby City), yet they always perform very creditably, helped by the fact they actually make the effort. There should be no reason why the entire ITV audience buggers off at 7.30 on Tuesday for the rest of the evening, the BBC1 audience doesn't at eight on Thursday.

Well, I wasn't expecting it to get three or four million there, but I thought it might do alright because I'm sure there are more casual viewers about at 10.30 on Thursday than on a Monday, and it's the kind of show you can stumble on and watch, but maybe not the kind of thing you purposely seek out, so there's probably a decent audience who would watch Ross if they were there but not be heartbroken if they missed it on the Saturday. And if Celebrity Juice can get a million and a half in that slot on ITV2, surely you could get a similar audience on ITV1, repeat or no, there was no entertainment competition last night and the repulsive Kelvin McKenzie was on Question Time (and therefore presumably convinced everyone in the world to switch off, he did for me anyway).
