Eh? Are you confusing me with Dancc, he's the C5 spinmeister?

Perhaps the delay is whilst they double check the rate of decline for Eternal Law?

Ratings are delayed until at least 17.30, according to @PaulBrassey.

I remember him saying in an interview he had pitched the idea to the BBC but they weren't keen on looking for a jesus.

That'll be a hell of a wait to see how Eternal Law and Celeb Big Brother did! What are we going to do!?!

The format had been flogged to death by Lloyd Webber and the BBC, so the only surprise is that ITV have apparently picked this up.

I'm wondering if the BBC thought they needed it now they have The Voice?

Agreed!

I hope CBB did well, over 4m hopefully. There was a massive buzz everywhere on the internet. I don't know about Eternal Law, but I reckon around 4.5m, as for Public Enemies it got 4.1m on Weds, so I reckon around 3.6m for that.

nothing like a new idea from ITV.

Very strange, the variation on delivering ratings. It seems to be a case of "oh well we get them when we get them". I thought companies paid for this info? You would think they had things like service level agreements, etc.

ITV have most of the big talent shows bar Strictly. I don't think they need it.

Interestingly Steven Moffat had this to say about Live+7 ratings.

https://twitter.com/#!/steven_moffat...47184940515329

"The Live+7 figure for DW Xmas special (basically adding iPlayer) is 12.88. BBC's winner for the day."

This ratings debate will run & run. I've always felt that iPlayer success is knocking some show's ratings down on BARB.

I suspect even with +1 and ITV Player Downton would have been hard pressed to beat 12.88m....

Do ITV ever release ITV Player stats, or would that be too embarrassing?

Public Enemies is an absolutely superb piece of drama, gritty, very well acted and utterly compelling. It deserves to grow from it's initial rating of 4.1m, or at the very least not to drop any further.

Eternal Law sounds like an awful concept, but I didn't see it last night, although the reviews could be, at best, described as "mixed". I suspect it will launch lower than some might predict, maybe in the 3-4m range.

Yesterday I predicted a sub 3m launch for CBB, but I think a revision is in order; I now believe it will achieve nearer 5m, anything greater than that would be a huge success for the Channel. The celebs seem like a good mix of characters and it could prove to be an interesting series.

Was BBC1's omnibus rating, which featured the EE Christmas Day episode, included in the Live +7 figures?

Edit: Was there even an omnibus airing for the Christmas Day episode? I'm not sure.

Don't forget the ITV1 repeat though which was shown within 7 days after initial transmission. I suspect that rated around 1m.

I've only ever seen "total users" stats from at least 6 months ago, when BBC iPlayer had about 6.5m and ITVPlayer had about 1.5m. I don't think I've ever seen any individual programme request figures for ITVPlayer.

if we are counting repeats within 7 days, then there are two repeats of Doctor Who you could also count. On the 27th and the 28th.

Of course (and same for the Downton repeat) working out how many of those viewers are new viewers watching the show for the first time, would be tricky.

Its near on impossible to get a true total rating, for either show.

And now we have this.

"Live+7 figs (consolidated &iPlayer) show 3 #BBC1 xmas day shows viewed by more than 12m: #DoctorWho 12.88 #EastEnders 12.8, #AbFab 12.47"
