Ever since Mother Monster strutted onto the scene in her thigh high louboutins boots Kanye has been trying to be an all encompasing artist like GaGa.

Now he's come out with this DONDA nonsense which is clearly a rip off of the Haus of GaGa.

With GaGa its effortless but with Kanye its too forced.

Your argument would have more weight if Lady Gaga hadn't "been inspired" by every female artist of the last 25 years.

She hasn't an original bone in her body.

Kayne west has been around alot longer than gaga
I would have thought it was more of a model of Jay Z Rocawear or Wu tang clan Wu-wear.

like gaga is the first person to bring out a clothing line

Nah. Kanye's always been pretentious. He's apparentely modelling this after Steve Jobs.

Anyway, The Haüs borrows a lot from Warhol's Factory and Prince's creative teams and bands in the '80s. It's hardly her idea to copy, though she may have re-popularised it.

If GaGa wasn't original she would have had a Mandy Moore style career, instead she the biggest artist of our time.

Kanye was much more interesting when he was a humble rapper who rapped about Jesus, this whole "male rapping" GaGa is tiresome and embarrasing, not least because he doesn't come close to GaGa in talent/innovation/songwriting/performing/fashion etc.

Are you kidding me?

Kanye has always been an "all encompassing artist". He's been trying to get into high fashioon for years, long before anybody even knew who the hell Gaga was. The only reason it's taken Kanye so long to start his own line, is because he's spent so many years trying to gain the endorsement of the fashion world. He actually wants to be taken seriously as a real designer, and not just be seen as another muscian starting a clothing line.

Kanye has been doing this pretentious "artiste" routine much longer than Gaga. And he does it much better. If anything, she's copied him (along with Madonna, Grace Jones and whomever else).

You seem to have been living in a cave for the last 10 years. Kanye has never been "humble", even when he was doing songs like "Jesus Walks". He's always been a metrosexual, arty farty backpack rapper whose tried to be innovative.

Kanye is 100 times more original than Gaga. There's no one quite like him. As everyone knows, there have been many Gaga type artists in the past.

It is so annoying how people post comments that are just cheeky for no reason. There's no need. Yes everyone has the right to their own opinion, but why not say it with respect?

Plus, why state your opinion as fact? It isn't.

I'm not a fan of Kanye at all, but he is much more creative than Lady Gaga.

Turning up to awards ceremonies dressed as a ham sandwich does not make one original.

Kanye is brilliant and isn't copying Gaga at all. I'm a fan of them both but I don't think Kanye needs to or wants to copy Gaga. You don't have to wear the contents of a butchers shop to be fashionable and I think DONDA is branching into other areas not just fashion

Honestly, Gaga feels like a fad that's nearly run it's course.

You can feel how much the hype has deflated. How boring her attention seeking stunts (ie the ridiculous outfits) have become.

Her music is bog standard pop. She peaked with Paparrazi, but she really has run out of ideas (or run out of other artists to steal ideas from).

In terms of "current" popularity, I think she's fallen behind Rhianna and Katy Perry now (not to mention Adele).

I actually think if she plays her cards right, Christina Aguilera could overtake Gaga with her comeback. I think Gaga is going to become irrelevant over the next few years.

I don't think she will become irrelevant but I do think Gaga's career with echo that of Prince.

I also agree about Christina. I have a feeling this will be her year.

As a singles artist, you'd have to say Katy Perry is schooling Gaga right now as well. Matching Michael Jackson's record for US number 1's from one album is the sort of thing people would have been expecting from Gaga, not Katy Perry.

Like I said, the hype is gone. Gaga is just another big popstar right now, not the supreme Queen of the Pop universe. There are others right now who are bigger.

Agree again and what is more. Madonna is weeks away from her come back so once her new era is in full swing there could be this mentally of 'the real Queen is back do we need the clone?'

Gaga is going to have to start watching her back as she is no longer the leader of the pack.

Prince had a good 10 year run as a genuine first rank superstar, up there with Madonna and MIchael Jackson as the 80's trifecta ( I think up until the Batman soundtrack at least).

Gaga has barely had 3 years already, and she seems to already be running out of steam. I can't see her still being one of the very top stars in 7 years.

Wow, some self righteous posts in here

Who is the haus of gaga and what do they do? might seem like a daft question to some but not everyone knows

I thought it was `house of gaga` then i read that its `haus of gaga` and i thought they were just the people who designed and made her stage costumes

You people are utterly deluding yourself if you think either Christina or Madonna are gonna come back and dominate the charts. They're just not relevant anymore IMO.

Most people my age see Madonna nowadays as a bit of a joke I think, a slightly embarrassing old woman playing bog standard gay friendly electropop. She'd have to have an utterly killer and catchy track to break the top 5 at best.

It wasn't like that. Yes, she started out as a piano-pop-jazz singer in NYU, but then she was in a rock band (the SG Band) and started incorporating electronica into her act. She started changing her image at this point. Then she met performance artist Lady Starlight, and also future collaborator/boyfriend/lawsuit dude where she got the name Lady Gaga. There are videos of The Lady Gaga & Starlight Revue playing Lollapalooza in 2007.

She got her first record deal at that time, writing for others. She was dropped, still writing for others, and then got signed to Interscope. Then she became a worldwide pop superstar etc. It's not like she woke up one day and said ''I'm going to call myself Lady Gaga, dye my hair blonde, wear wacky clothes and be a megastar''. It was a development.

Yeah, that's why Christina just had the second biggest selling single in the UK of 2011 with Moves Like Jagger, with over a million copies sold. Most artists would love to be that irrelevant.

And yes, it was a single in conjucntion with Maroon 5. Who were even bigger flops, and had been irrelevant for about 4 years. So it's not as if they were superstars at their peak carrying X-Tina.

Moves Like Jagger shows that any act can make a succesful comeback. Also, Jennifer Lopez was irrelevant for even longer than Maroon 5 and X-Tina were meant to be, yet she had two massive hit singles in 2011.

So basically...you don't know what you are talking about. Madonna is a bit more of a dicey affair, because of her age (J-Lo is in her 40's though, so it's not impossible for older pop stars to come back strong. But J.Lo still looks quite young, while Madge looks her age). But Christina is still young, and is coming off the back of a massive hit single and a hit US TV show. She can dominate the charts again easily, if the music is right.
