2500 posts. Thread was started on 5/1/12
That's terrific..........shows the increased interest in the sport

Just looking back at the threads since we've had a seperate sports forum........

2006 - 506 posts
2007 - 286 posts
2008 - 748 posts
2009 - 605 posts
2010 - 201 posts
2011 - 686 posts

I expect that the two really low years were when seperate Tour de France threads took off

But generally 500 to 750 would be the norm............

Big increase this year !..............

Is Saturday the last we see of Pooley before her year out?
I don't think she's made the decision yet.

Maybe still hoping that the Brit women get a proper team like the men have with sky, though there seems to be a long way to go to get equality in road racing for women. Was hoping the surge in interest in cycling in the uk would progress it so we had more pro teams doing men and women, more inclusion in tours, and more live televised events.

I'd like to know if this is the last road race of the season or if there's a chance of further races to come, and maybe even televised in some form.

The cycling sites seem a bit disorganised in that I've not seen something as simple as a calendar showing which upcoming events a particular rider may be taking part in. Do these things not get planned in advance, even provisionally?

The UCI publish calendars of their women's elite events http://www.uci.ch/templates/BUILTIN-...YzMzQ&LangId=1

Riders map out a season in advance and then vary it depending on performances and their teams needs. The higher ranked usually the more influence on what they race.

Just looking at that Sky calendar I think the ones that will definitely be on TV (on Eurosport) are the late season One Day Classics.........Tour of Lombardy 29th Sept, Paris-Tours 7th Oct

Eurosport show those every year

I've got a vague memory of one of the ES commentators saying they were covering the Tour of Beijing this year

They did indeed. Wasn't that the one on one of the stages last year when the wind caught some barriers and blew them into the road?

Yeah, one of the least interesting Tours in cycling history, 5 days of spinning about pancake flat windswept industrial estates.

Realistically none of these guys have any chance so as long as it's stopped raining by the time the last dozen riders set off, then it shouldn't affect the result.............

I am surprised that Wiggins isn't do this and swerving the road race he probably has no chance of winning. We surely must have enough to support Cav without Wiggins.

Phinney is falling back and Contador getting caught as expected. LOL.

Wonder if Van Garderen can pull enough time back?
