Todays stage underway on ES...........95 K to go, breakaway has 4 minutes

Quite a big breakaway group, looks about 10 or a dozen

Really hope Henao and Uran aren't told to wait on the remaining descents.

Can Eurosport replace this poor commentator? Not a patch on David Harmon. The amount of times Sean Kelly has had to put him right is embarrassing. I think he trying to whip up a storm.

Crisis for Wiggins.

No, not really responds Kelly.

Wiggins from 1 minute down to 30 seconds now.

He will have to work on his descending if he wants to win the Giro.

Wiggo has got back to the main group but will they drop him again on the two remaining descents ?

You'd think he'd be OK in the rain with living and training around manchester................

I like Declan's commentary..........though, to be fair, it might just be a case of 'anyone but Carlton'...............

I expect we'll have Carlton and Smithy for the Tour of California (starts at 10pm on Eurosport tonight)............might be Magnus, but is he riding the Tour of Norway with his British team ?

Anyway I expect they'll be covering it from the dungeon in Paris

Carlton is commentating on the Giro in other territories. If you want to hear what you are missing, a sample is at 1min30secs (first logo square on line): https://soundcloud.com/cycling-centr...ay-2013-a-giro

Pantano's face as Betancur crossed the line celebrating was priceless.

I agree that the main Eurosport commentator isn't the best, Wiggins at least managed to avoid losing time today and if he can stay in there anything can happen in a 3 week tour.

Surprised to see Hesjedal losing time today.

I thought betancur hadn't realised there was someone in front !.............has that been confirmed ?

It seemed a bit extravagant for someone finishing 2nd,...........

A good day for riders to study the road book and look forward to the next two weeks of racing... or not!

Are people really 'outraged' that Wiggins said 'I descended like a girl'?

Some of the comments on twitter are ridiculous.... More Twitter faux outrage if you ask me...

I've been to Palm Springs. I remember I arrived there at night and was amazed when I woke up in the morning and saw that bloomin' great mountain just outside my hotel room window.

Doesn't look like it's going to rain today in the Giro, first proper mountain finish. It should be a good show.

Heading towards the final climb with a group of about 20 including the GC men - they've got about 4 minutes to make up on a breakaway

I think hejdesal has missed the GC contender group and has been left behind

Sky have 4 men on the front of the GC group..............Wiggo said before the start that he felt in good climbing form.

Breakaway looks doomed, down to about 2 minutes now
