I've got so bored with Radio5 that I've started listening to Talksport in the mornings..........

BTW...........if you haven't listened to it for years (like me) it's actual sports chat now rather than Daily Mail type phone ins for the 'Staaaands to reason' brigade

Anyway..........all this week they've been playing sections of a long interview that Danny Kelly did with Cav, it's been really interesting. I'll post up if they say when (if) the whole interview will be played straight through

Another bit on now !

Unlike R5 presenters Danny appears to follow and know a lot about the sport, he's asking Cav tactical questions as well as the usual stuff

Good old Danny !

You might remember Danny as the fat bloke with specs who used to be Danny Baker's oppo on 6-0-6 and on that late night fan footie show that was a precursor to the Baddiel and Skinner show

Just said - full interview on the Talksport website if you want to listen

Just checking the Radio Times for the weekend coverage and notice that there's no prologue this year............straight in on Saturday with a 213K road stage

Coverage starts at 10.30 AM on Eurosport. I guess that means they'll be showing the whole stage !

Similarly on ITV4 with 10.55 AM start

I've just been watching the team presentations. I could swear they didn't show them all. Euskaltel-Euskadi, Cofidis, Orica Greenedge, Sojasun and Vacansoleil were missing. Did Eurosport not show the whole thing?

We probably won't get Phil Liggett and Paul Sherwen commentary until about 12 o'clock I guess. NBC Sports will have bagged them for the first hour. So it'll be Gary and Chris babbling away.

""Why isn't there a prologue? Quite simply because we wanted to take the fullest advantage of Corsica, the only region of France that has never previously welcomed the Tour de France. With that in mind, we've put together a first stage of 212km that runs through magnificent countryside..."

Prologues are boring...............

Who'll wear the yellow jersey ?

and what about tactics if there's no race leader ?............could be tricky as no team will feel obliged to chase down or control the peloton

I suppose the other teams will leave it up to Sky as they're the strongest team and think they're going to win the Tour, therefore they have more to lose if some chancers get 20 minutes up the road

Could be interesting tactics if there's no yellow jersey !

Does it start tomorrow? Does it start in France?

It's that time of year again, where I have to learn what a peleton is.

Yes, Corsica.

100% on French soil. Pyrenees before the Alps. Alpe d'Huez twice on the same stage. Champs-Elysees stage in the evening and round the Arc de Triomphe.

There's a nationalist movement in Corsica.........there might be demonstrations..............

Not been much violence lately but there was in the 60s and 70s.............

Will it be tacks on the road again?

Long, flat stage tomorrow along the coast road so all focus on Cvndsh for the stage win and yellow. OPQS possibly leading the peloton for the second half of the stage, turning up the pace at the end, and a chance of a pile up in the final kilometres with all those fresh legs and nervous riders. Tight competition for the green jersey this year with Sagan the slight favourite.

Light north headwind forecast for racing up the coastline before swinging round 180 degrees for the final two kilometres:http://www.bbc.co.uk/weather/3034640

I read somewhere that there've been eleven political assassination in Corsica this year already

I wouldn't be a GT without me posting my wildly inaccurate Top 10 prediction:

1) J-Rod
2) Froome - Yellow until midway through week 3
3) TJVG
4) Valverde
5) Contador
6) Porte
7) Moreno (50/1 for a podium / 6/1 Top 10)
8) Martin(Dan)
9) Quintana
10) Pinot

Mollema, Talansky, Navarro, Fuglsang, VDB & Peraud all in 11-20

Evans, Schleck, Hesjedal, Cunego, Rolland, Voeckler all outside of Top 20.

Whoever gets the yellow jersey tomorrow will lose it for good 24 hours later. Stage 2 will probably only finish with 40 odd riders at the front and stage 3 no more than 60 ish.

Could be decent first few days.

I was thinking more of who starts the race in yellow............and of the tactics for stage 1 if no one is in yellow

Because the 'normal' race tactics for a flat stage revolve around the race leader and his team controlling the peloton and chasing down breaks

If there's no race leader for the first road stage how are the tactics going to play out ?

Omega Pharma will be chasing all day to ensure Cav gets a chance. Maybe Lotto will help, for Greipel.

Exactly that. Sagan thinks he has a chance tomorrow (2). Not site if he does IMO, but if he wina that he could have yellow all of week one, so Canondale will be there.

Argos have 9 sprinters effectively geared around Kittel and Degenkolb for the first week so you should see them and Sky will not budge.
