Anyone else thing Cav may as well just quit now rather than bust a gut through the mountains? Things havent really gone to plan so far (OK, one stage win) and the Olympics are looming.

It looks like the chances of the green jersey have gone........he'd be depending on others quitting the race
I suppose he might as well go on to the rest day on Tuesday and see how he feels, there's no really huge mountains until next Wednesday
Feel sorry for Greipel. Crashed twice, yet ordered to contest the sprint, with blood running down his leg. He was obviously in no fit condition to compete with Sagan.
Will take a lot for Cav to pull out, when there's a chance of Paris and a full leadout train for him. Depends how he feels after the initial mountain stages I guess.
Schleck had to attack in the mountains before the crash, as his TTing is so bad, then again I don't think he is a real GC contender anyway.

It was his own choice to sprint, he told his teammates to get the train underway, his teammanager had already tweeted that he wouldn't contest the sprint.
No explanation as to why Schleck was left by RSNT. They surely knew the yellow jersey will be gone tomorrow so helping the team leader was the priority?
Leaves me wishing it had been another dull break-catch-sprint stage.

Eurosport commentators said he was ordered to contest.

The Schlecks aren't on the best of terms with Bruyneel, are they? #JustSaying

Damn i stuck him one comp where theres no transfers
Think he was fav when i checked oddschecker site to be top climber id imagine(think it was that)

He's a good climber............he's one of those guys that could win a mountain stage but not particularly threaten the overall yellow jersey
Tomorrow could be his kind of stage as he won a similar stage in the Tour of Italy a year or two back........it was up and down but not too difficult most of the way with one big climb at the finish
I suspect he'll need to be in a breakaway to win because he usually cracks if he's climbing alongside the big boys........that's my impression anyway.............
