Cheers for that...

Just shows its all about being consistent and gaining an edge in the time trials whilst holding on in the Mountains.

two stages in the mountains after the rest day will seal this then...I hope it's fiesty....

the last 2 or 3 stages have been almost non-events. Not even the sprinters really getting a look in because their teams aren't prepared to chase down the break away.

Great for David Millar earlier but today was a chore to watch.

Greenedge are still in a sulk about the 30pt relegation of Goss.

It must have been tougher than it looked out there with six abandons a few hours before the rest day.

I'll probably do that, watching ITV4 with 5live commentary, could be interesting. Do you know who's doing the commentary?

Must be Simon Brotherton - he's the only R5 cycling commentator !

I haven't got a DAB radio so I can have one or the other on my telly, but I supose I could have the radio on my computer and the pictures on my telly..........i don't think the relative and different delays will be anywhere near as confusing as they are with footy or cricket...............

If there are breakaways you can be certain that when TV is showing thebreakaway, radio will be describing the peleton. Then they'll swap round

Weds is the Queen stage but even then the last summit is a long way from the finish. With all the climbs if a rider does crack he could lose a lot of time. Depends how long Sky can keep the team together on the climbs.

At work all day so staying off the net and watching it when I get home

I wonder if Sky will have Cavendish and Eisel doing the pacemaking on the early, flattish first 40k of Wednesday's stage, knowing they'll probably lose them both on the first climb, and thus save Rodgers, Porte and Knees to protect Wiggins along with Froome after that. I doubt Cavendish and Eisel will be able to stay with the leaders over the Col d'Aubisque, but it would be a huge bonus for Sky if they could, because they could then be useful right to the start of the Tourmalet, when they will undoubtedly be dropped.

15 kilometres is nothing more then 15 minutes to the finish for someone like Nibali (especially with such a vertical descent).

BBC reports of only 20 out of 300 G4S staff turning up for duty at Box Hill today; G4S say it is a 40% no-show out of 70. The Surrey police say its a complete failure.

Will this year be a one-off, or will Sky go for the yellow jersey next year as well?

For sure, they are in the business to win races. We will have to see what the course is like when it's announced in October to know how they are going to configure their team though.

Breaking News on SSN that Frank Schleck has tested positive for a banned substance
cmq2
17-07-2012
Quote:
“The UCI has issued a statement informing the Luxembourg rider that an in-competition test taken on July 14th and subsequently analysed at the WADA accredited laboratory in Châtenay-Malabry revealed traces of the diuretic Xipamide.

It is a so-called specified substance, which can carry a lighter suspension than other products such as EPO. As a result the UCI’s rules do not mean he must automatically leave the race.

However, as was the case with Alexandr Kolobnev last year, the governing body makes it clear that RadioShack Nissan should withdraw the rider.”

It's a diuretic, and he completed his urine test, so it sounds like its working to me.

the diuretic is just to make you pee and flush out whatever else you've taken

a diuretic in itself is not performance enhancing

well............I don't think so...........I'm no expert, but I can't see that the desire to pee regularly is much of an advantage in a bike race.

Ahh okay then, I wonder if they can keep all three if Froome, Cavendish and Bradley? They surely cannot can they?

As for Frank, if you have to cheat, it just proves that you are worthless and no good.
I hope that if this proven that he is sacked.
