I think Froome will do the Vuelta............because he's been ill for months he's had a light campaign

Can't see Brad doing the Vuelta if he wins the Tour.

So perhaps we'll see how Froome does as Team Leader in Spain
Sky will already have Uran and Henoi going for the GC podium in the Vuelta. Will be a hell of a team with Froome too and some of the same issues.

Breakaway written all over todays stage. Can expect Argos, Cofidis, Euskaltel to all have one or two in it, maybe Lampre too.

That was quite interesting.........a little interview with Brailsford

He was asked to say something about one of the 'other guys' on the team that don't get much of a mention

He picked out Bernie Eisel and said that one of his jobs is to know where everyone is on GC and what they're capable of...........then he's the guy who sits near the front at the beginning of the stage and watches who's trying to get in the break and decides wether to let them go or chase......

Pictures in............92K to go, break two and a half minutes

Big break - 12 or 14 blokes, incl some of the usual suspects - Millar, Vino, Albasini, Popovych,..........and Boassen-hagan

Some of the smaller teams who haven't won anything yet are pushing along at the front of the peloton

I've been impressed by Christian Knees as well. Done a lot of stuff early on in the mountain stages, but not really a rider who gets a lot of recognition.

That's interesting, and quite a surprise. With modern communications and extensive filming around the course of all the breakaways, groups etc, I'd have thought that this would have been done at some sort of race HQ, where they'd be able to quickly access the current GC times of everyone in the break and assess their threat.

They do have TV in the team cars.........they watch Eurosport !

But I suppose there is a delay in the pictures of a few seconds and the pictures might not be showing the front of the peloton, might be showing the break or someone in trouble or a crash or away at adverts !

And even then someone in the car might have to look up the GC, then speak to Brad on the radio, then Brad has to get his team mates to start chasing

I guess it's just more efficient to have a rider at the front who can respond immediately

Yes, I guess so. It's pretty reasonable to think that Team Sky propbably know what they are doing.

I think they're the most brilliant team management of any sport in the UK...........

If you think that the track cycling has come pretty much from nowhere to world domination in just over a decade and now they're doing it in road racing.............

Get them in charge of the England football team !..........

The only person that I can think of that can read a race as well as Sean Yates is Sean Kelly.

It never hurts to have a man on the road who knows what they are doing - especially with the ... regularlity ... ear pieces fall out or radios malfunction

Isn't there supposed to be a ruling coming in banning the use of radios from the team car at least for the end of a race or stage sometime next year?

It is a wonder that SIr Clive Woodward is in overall charge of Team GB the olympic team is he not?
I wonder if we would do better if Brailsford were to take over ?

Also, does anyone think, it cannot be long before he is a Knight as well? Sir Dave Brailsford perhaps? He has certainly done a heck of a lot for the sport in general.

Woodward isn't in charge of the Olympic team , thats the Dutch bloke Charles Van Commence ( spelling ?) ....... obviously he is involved , not sure what his exact role is tbh.

Both ITV and Eurosport on an advert break at the same time, that is just not on! Usually when one is on an advert break, you can just flick to the other to watch the continuing action.
Also the Eurosport adverts happned at the commentator was talking!

Ohh, I thought that Charles was just in charge of the athletics sides of things, rather than every sport.

They're zooming along today..........there's only 32K left

gap back to peloton one and a half minutes

could go either way...........Sky have EBH in the break so they probably won't chase for Cav unless another team brings the gap down to a point where the break is bound to get caught

I'd like to see EBH get a stage. Saw him in the Tour of Britain the other year before he signed for Sky and just a class rider.
