Just seen it. It must have been quite a shock to be caught in Cav's slipstream.

I was just watching the ending again, and you know what, I don't know how many people here have played Mario Kart before, but it is like Cavendish saved up the powerboost option, and used it at the end there!

Look at Wales with all their world class players , they still cant beat a SH nation let alone win consecutive games and win a World Cup.”

However if it wasn't for Mr Alain Rolland, we would certainly have been in the final, and not many favours from the refs in the Aussie tour this summer.

Back to cycling and a great win today by Cavendish.

Be interesting to see what happens in the time trial..........will Brad go for the win ?

It must be tempting to take it carefully and not ride all out because crashing is the only way he's going to lose the yellow jersey

Ride around safe even if it costs him the stage ?

I think Brad will go for it and try to win the time trial. He must have heard comments about how well Chris Froome is riding, and potentially could have done better than he was allowed to be in the mountains, and Brad will want to show that he is the best rider for this tour.

That wasn't a cycling helmet on his head it was a power up mushroom.

Yes that was what I was thinking of!

All he needed was a banana skin to plop out behind him as well, and that would have resulted in a funny moment!

Shame no red shells though (or blue ones! ).

England were on the wrong side of a hugely biased ref in that final and still won , you cant keep blaming refs for you're continual failures against SH teams , Wales are good but nowhere near as good as some people like to think they are.

Sorry for taking this thread off topic ill knock it on the head now.

Never realised before how much Master Roche looks like his dad. He's having a good race as well - hope he manages to get into the top 10.

Him ,Kloden and Horner will be eyeing the top ten for sure because Rolland and Pinot will definately struggle to that 53km TT

Brad is off about 3.30 and should finish around 4.30

I hitch-hiked to Chartres once.........well, actually hitch-hiking around aimlessly and ended up in Chartres........

Fantastic cathedral.............

I too have been to Chartes, spent 3 days there just to see the Cathedral. There's a maze laid out on the floor.

Liked that shot of Thomas Voeckler. The riders get their choice of tons of free stuff before the race! Food bars, special drinks, water etc. "Got any Cadbury's Fruit and Nut?" is a question that would probably get you dirty looks.

Incidentally, I'm trying to encourage them by watching the stage on pukka ITV. I'm seeing lots of adverts I don't normally see.

I'm watching on ITV1 as well............just to see how the first time viewers might be seeing it

Well done to ITV but what a shame that they decide to show the time trial today...........can imagine first time viewers saying it's boring, not watching that again

Then tomorrow we've got the procession into Paris with no racing..............they'll get bored with that as well long before they reach the Champs Elysees

They normal have a head to head for the top two or three.

Is it pointless this year?

When they designed the course last October, they thought this would be the decisive stage. Didn't work out that way...

TJ van Garderen catches Cadel Evans. The King is dead, long live the King. Next year: van Garderen v Froome for the yellow?
