I'm sure they will. You could tell that no-one was racing it out at the end, which they would have done if they thought they were going to be penalised.

It's going to take a bit of working out because the peleton had already split down to about 60 odd people even before the crash, so technically those who were already behind should be given a slower time.

Good win for Luke, but real shame for Cav and anybody else affected by that crash. Who thought this tour wouldn't be exciting?

Flicked over to Eurosport for the final day of the Vuelta but they're still showing highlights of yesterday.............

unfortunately the tour goes nowhere near where I live.
Well done to Luke, really sucks for Cavendish though.

........and the Tour isn't coming to London this year

I'm sure that in the past the last stage has been in London

I saw the race a few years ago when Tom Boonen was riding

It's going to be weird to watch the race on tv and then just walk outside to see them pass. FYI, it's an awesome stage, too. One hill that they're going up is so long and steep that I don't even like going DOWN it in my car.

Ironic that the sprint jersey is sponsored by Yodel, given that they rarely get anywhere on time and frequently get lost.

Nice to see the dignitaries making an effort. T-shirt, shorts and trainers... very smart.

It is a quintessential British, bumbling ceremony.

Yep, the Tour de France sometimes goes through Nice and St Tropez. The Tour of Britain goes through Lowestoft and Great Yarmouth.

I think they wanted to avoid London as there have been a couple of big events there this summer which have caused some disruption

That was pretty much what happened with me for the Olympics road race and time trial. Am going to see stage 8 (Surrey stage) next Sunday.

That was such a shame for Cav. Quite a chaotic stage in terms of crashes.

Liquigas' Viviani would have got closer if Bennati had not pulled well off Degenkolb's wheel before stopping pedalling.

Rematch next July when Froome is better prepared? If it is a mountainous Tour then Katusha will want Rodriguez to race in France?

Looked at the ToB map for today's stage and the race passed within about half-a-mile of three different houses my family have lived in.

According to the finally updated Tour of Britain website Cav and Wiggo are 10 seconds behind Lowe.

Garcia is last at 8'55.
