They seem to have had a much higher pace today than people were expected, so no idea when they're coming through my village.

Looks like Cav is content to sit back now. Can't blame him.

I guess you've sen the estimated schedule.........

http://www.tourofbritain.com/_ns_rac...n=stage7_route

they must be about 8K past Buckfastleigh if I'm reading this right..........so it looks like they're about 25 minutes ahead of the estimated times ?

I think they're going through South Brent, now heading towards Kingsbridge. And, yes, I think they're about 25-30 mins ahead.

There's a sprint stage along Slapton Sands (which should be quite spectacular), followed immediately by some challenging climbs from sea level. I use the second one myself (strictly granny gear for me, obv) so I speak from experience!

Just riding through Kingsbridge now.

Apologies, NOW they're coming into Kingsbridge. It's quite confusing seeing these roads and towns on TV.

Really pleased that Jon Tiernan-Locke retained the gold jersey!

Should now have done enough to seal the win.

Just watching some of the coverage that I missed when I went out to the road to watch them pass. Much closer than it felt, actually, which is good.

He does a bit of the ITV4 coverage of the Halfords Tour series, which everyone will have to start taking seriously now.

Just been watching a film of the 1948 Olympic Road Race. The race commissars rode around the course in a vintage open-top Rolls Royce. You don't get that quality anymore.

Indeed. Strictly Skodas, Saabs and BMWs these days. Sigh...........

In the TdF I noticed that when the doctor attended to riders as they rode, they sometimes did it from a convertible VW, which had Skoda stickers all over it, presumably as Skoda don't do any convertibles and VW was the closest relative.

Someone explain to me the point of a trade team TTT in a world championships? I don't get it.

I suppose the decision really is wether to have a team time trial...............once you've made the decision to have one then it seems logical that it's got to be based on professional teams

It would be a nightmare trying to get 8 or 9 man teams from all but a handful of countries

With Wiggo pulling out of the ToB, and assuming his stomach troubles were a 24 hour thing, is there a chance he may now decide to compete in the WC () individual time trial on Tuesday?

Doesn't sound like either Wiggo or Cav think they have a realistic chance in the road race so he may as well have a crack at something he would be a contender in.

I think his form has gone now for the season............there's no point doing the TT and finishing 40th.....or even10th.....

If you're Wiggo you do time trials to win them - if you're not in with a chance there's no point

Doesn't matter so much in the road race because nothing is expected of him really and he can toodle round in the peloton and finish in the pack without too much effort

The crazy thing is they have assigned nations to the trade teams. So Gilbert, Quinziato & Pinnoti are riding for the USA and, Voigt, Kloden & Popovych are riding for Luxembourg and, EBH, Henao & Flecha are riding for us. http://static.sportresult.com/federations/uci/CR-node/

Will the winning team's riders personally get the rainbow bands to wear in next year's TTTs? Or, will the successful team be able to field any rider in a TTT and provide them with the banded jerseys?

Perhaps they should have gone back to the four rider national teams over steadier grades than this committee designed confusion.
