Sub-titles after pausing live TV
I have a Humax PVR - everytime I pause TV and then go back to resume play - the subtitles/text appears at the bottom of the screen and I can't get rid of it.
Anyone else have this issue or anyone know where i'm going wrong? |

Temporary fix
Press exit twice. Permanent fix While viewing an affected channel turn on subtitles and then turn them off again. If you have customised channels you have to use the exit solution. |

Many thanks - i'll give the 'exit twice' a try.
I have tried switching the subtitles on then off - but i get an error message saying something along the lines of 'this service is not available' - i'm not at home at present so i can't give you the exact message. None of the channels are customised. |

My Foxsat-HDR never used to do this. For some reason it has started doing it recently.

If you still have problems on any channel with a problem, press the sub button to turn them on and again to turn them off. |

The permanent fix doesn't seem to be permanent anyway. TBH I'm wondering why people bang on about the Humax boxes being so great, they're OK but there's loads of niggly little problems that shouldn;t be an issue, very disappointed with mine.

TBH there are two more niggles on this box that I rather they fixed first:-
1) Listing all episodes of a series in the Schedule List rather than just the first to save having to trawl through the whole EPG to make sure all timers are set as they should be; 2) Dropping the optical audio connection (rather than just muting it) when the box goes into standby while there is a recording in progress to save me having to force my AV amp onto the analog input I use for my other, older source boxes. |

On my box exit once is sufficient. Wondered if some boxes differ ?
Occasionally I want subtitles, if the interupting phone call is for Senior Management & she isn't really watching. So Humax's offer of subtitles is reasonable. Others may choose otherwise David |
