Kindle Telegraph crashes
MaxBeta
07-01-2012
I have subscribed to the Telegraph but find that every Saturday, including today, my Kindle crashes and can't cope with the new graphics-heavy version.

I have looked on the Amazon forums and see other people have the same problem, and that Amazon say it is being worked on. I've just called them and have had vague assurances along the same lines.

Is it really being worked on, does anyone know, or shall I give up and cancel?

The only other suggestion on Amazon is to get the calibre version instead, but since that isn't much like the Kindle edition it isn't a solution as far as I'm concerned.

As Amazon have said it's being worked on when you called them why do you doubt them?

Because the person I spoke to was vague about it, and because on the Amazon forums other callers have been given the same answer for a while without any improvement to the problem.

What did they actually say?

She said that she was sure they were working on it, to give it another week and that I could call again and cancel if it was no better next Saturday. I said other people had been having similar problems for a while, according to posts on the Amazon forum I had seen, and she said she was not aware of any problem. I felt that as an identical problem to mine had already been discussed on the Amazon forum, Amazon are in fact aware of the issue even though this particular person apparently wasn't.

Sunday's Telegraph is fine by the way, it is only Saturdays that causes freezes & crashes.

I also subscribe to the Telegraph and had noticed an increase in the amount of images but I'v had no problem with my Kindle crashing.

Mine crashes, but anyway I can't get the 2nd page of sections (including the motoring) to work

Glad to say that for the last 3 weeks it has been fine, so it looks as if they have sorted the problem out.
