To be completely honest with you, I'm just kinda hoping that the production values for this teaser (or whatever it is supposed to be) aren't representative of what we can expect from the actual project.

However, it sounds like a spoof of sorts, so an amateurish job could be somewhat... fitting? I dunno. Whatever. Just get it commissioned already.

Spoof being the operative word - so maybe it's supposed to look bungled and amateurish

I just want to see the both of them back on our screens tbh and it surely can't be any worse than his exercise spoof with Mark - yikes !

This is all a bit confusing to me.

Have Channel 5 commissioned Dan Rose to do something he's already done? Or is he really saying that Channel 5 have agreed to air what they've already done? Or have they said it needs more work?

The idea of a spoof documentary seems strange to me. If it is a spoof, it will have to stand or fall on the quality of the acting and the script. And it will need to be funny. Is a spoof documentary just another name for a sitcom? Or is it an entirely new genre?

Between the two of them, I think Aaron and Faye ought to be able to come up with some good jokes. However, I am not entirely convinced that Aaron's acting skills will be up to it.

I think it's best to reserve judgement until we actually see it - if we see it (fingers crossed). Glass half full and all that !

I thought you were going to say annoying (wouldn't have blamed you if you did) and instead you're making me blush

I'm not always an optimist in life believe me but I just want everything to work out well for Aaron and Faye - they both deserve happiness !!

the production guy saying it was commissioned by channel 5 probably means that channel 5 paid for the production of the pilot, which is a good thing for aaron.

it would have no bearing on whether it's aired or there's a go-ahead for a series.

the mockumentary is what aaron was doing with mark, so i wonder if those skits were his ideas also.

....and that guy is in serious need of an editor.

I know we haven't had a full blown panic attack on here for a while, lol, but I dont think we should worry about the pilot.

Going by the Tweets from both, they were involved in the filming (obviously) and, crucially, the editing and most importantly, are happy with the end result.

I trust their judgement and cannot wait to see it

Yeah let's not forget that Aaron most likely didn't edit the exercise sketch and a lot of that was quite amusing, there were just some very cringe bits!

Also let's not forget that Faye would never want to look a dikked on national TV lol! I am positive whatever they have filmed and edited is stuff they are happy with even if sending themselves up.

Also worth noting that Faye loves Ricky Gervais so will fully understand how spoof docus work.

I'm really happy it's a spoof! It means I get to see them on TV, find out what they're doing and get a few laughs. I don't watch many of these kind of follow people docus (like Katie and Peter etc) but on the rare occasion I have watched I often find them cringey and self indulgent even if I like the person.

Lastly, if they make a spoof, there is less for people who don't like them to sneer at, yes people can say they don't find it funny, but they can hardly sneer if Aaron and Faye are mocking that kind of documentary.

I'm thinking it will be a bit like a Pineapple Dance version of Katie and Peter!

I think I may have been a bit slow on the uptake.

Is a "spoof documentary" a documentary about people playing pranks on other people? (e.g. Faye didn't really crash the car, she just said she did)

It just means it's not a real documentary. It's played for laughs.

The events portrayed may or may not be based on real things that happened but it wouldn't need to have any truth in it at all.

Also with a spoof it is likely they will exaggerate their own characters so for example Faye and Tom may possibly discuss him beating her in the wrestling task which would lead to an argument and challenging to a rematch! Whilst there may not be a script, the convo would be planned rather than spontaneous and obviously they wouldn't have a rematch in real life so that's where the comedy comes in.

Another example could be Aaron putting Faye in a speaking ban!

They are basically taking the pee out of these kind of fly on the wall docs that Amy, Kerry and Peter Andre do whilst sending themselves up also.

I think Tom was the perfect choice to join them! He'll "get it" but won't have overegged it or tried to steal the limelight.

Pineapple dance studios is a brilliant example of a spoof, it's semi real, so the people may exaggerate their characters and some scenes will have been created for entertainment purposes, and I think it's something similar to thus that we'll get! I suppose it is going to be similar to Towie but I reckon a bit more silly and a bit less acted reality!

I did speak with Aaron about the Naked Marksketch and they had no input into the editing. It was edited to fit into a short slot on BBBM Apparently it was much more fitness focused before it was edited to be the cringeworthy sketch that appeared. I can imagine that Aaron and Faye will have had a fair bit of input into the editing of the Docu-spoof. Looking forward to it

That is what he was he did pre BB. As I understand it, he is focusing on other things at the moment, but always has the option of returning to that kind of work
