Have just picked up in our local (very small!) theatre a flyer for an exhibition tour by Pasha and Katya (plus 2 guest dancers) this March through to May. Playing at 35 venues across the UK. Only £20 a ticket at our theatre too!

Just an afterthought - does this clash with the SCD tour? Are they both doing it?

Thanks for the info. The SCD tour runs Jan - Feb so no clash.

Here is a link to a Katya fan site and a list of all the venues for their tour, easier than typing them all out.

Thanks - I quite like the idea of seeing Pasha and Katya in the flesh.

I'd be interested in your thoughts on Aliona's choreography - first post on Page 8 of this thread -

There actually come to my town.

Do you know who the guest dancers are?

Very sorry Monty I don't but isn't it great that they are playing at such 'intimate' venues - such a different experience to the arena tours I exoect, A real up close and personal treat!

I wonder whether it'll be their professional partners Anya and Klaus?

Yes it is and at a reasonable price as well, unlike the official tour.

Seriously thinking about going to see them.

In the Strictly off season DS forum is becoming a valuable clearing house for dance info. You would think a tour like this one would pick up 20 customers from this forum even in a provincial town?

But where has Greytops thread gone, vanished from top of the board?

shame there are so many dates but yet not one near enough to me that I can get to

Katya and Pasha have a fair bit of motoring ahead, playing in 35 towns in 6 weeks (Saturday & Sunday in bold font), last week in March thru the first week in May. Hope the weather stays mild so they can do a bit of countryside sightseeing en route:

Tunbridge Wells
Grays
Yeovil
Burgess Hill
Chatham

Worthing
St Albans
Basildon
Felixstowe
Camberley
Cardiff
Tamworth

Rhyl
Newcastle-on-Tyne
Grantham
Dartford
Skegness

Stevenage
Porthcawl
Shrewsbury
Catford
Selsey
Clitheroe

Cannock
Lincoln
Swindon
Bradford
Harrogate
Buxton

Lancaster
Warrington
Motherwell
Arbroath
Kilmarnock
Glenrothes

Now, I wonder why they didn't put:

Tunbridge Wells
Grays
Burgess Hill
Chatham

With Dartford and then they'd all be staying roughly in the South East without too much travelling!

The longest drive appears to be between Catford and Selsey, allegedly 181 miles.

They would be performing almost every night, then dining and off to bed by 2am? Up by 10am to drive to the next town? 4 dancers with costume trunks (and surely their own music and amplifiers rather than relying on provincial theatres?)

Quite a caravan, like a pop group on the road. Good luck to Katya, Pasha and co.

I cannot quite believe this but my daughter has just come home from her festival dance class (not ballroom or latin) and told me that they have been asked to do some dances at one of the dates on this tour!!!!!!!

Even better I might get to chaperone!!!!

So it looks like local dance schools may be 'filling in' - but as the flyer says 2 guest dancers my guess is there will still be other pros!

SO my up close and personal could be quite literal!!

Still shaking with excitement!

Burgess Hill date says that a local dance school will be guesting too. I'm now wondering how local that dance school will be (i.e. whether my own dance school will get asked|! )
I might try to go to the Burgess Hill date if I can get there. It's probably the most local venue for me and is on a weekend (better for me as I have to get up very early for work).
