I think that people are generally given partners who those in charge think will suit them based on size, ability, personality etc. - and I think they do a damn good job of matching them up.

Maria certainly has been unlucky the last 2 series with her partners, although I thought both went out too early. I hope she's back next year, but after 2 early exits I'd hardly blame her if she decided not to come back!

I'm sure she would jump at the chance to come back next year, she is a professional ice skater and unless she has a job coaching she doesn't seem to have done much in the way of skating in any ice shows since DOI ended last year.....thats from following her on twitter!

I felt sorry for Maria and Andy - it's obvious how well they got on and Andy was enjoying himself - it could have been a really good partnership if they'd stayed.
