I'm so so so glad I ordered the Deluxe Edition now, this album is simply lovely.

Dark Paradise, Radio, Summertime Sadness and Without You are absolutely stunning, they floor me each and every time.

The only disappointing track, for me, is Lolita. The demo is ridiculously better.

#10 in the midweeks is fantastic considering the lack of promotion for it really and the fact that most people are still only familiar with Video Games at the moment.
Hopefully it holds or goes up further as two consecutive top 10 hits from the album would look great

I would be very happy with another Top 10 single, agreed. Not looking for #1 or anything like that because i don't think Lana produces that 'sort' of song.

I'd love Born To Die s to hit top 5 I know that's doubtful but you never know. But yeah like konebyvax said number 1's arn't really Lana's type of song but I think she'll (hopefully) be a big album seller.

After the first listen I can definitely say this is a great album! There's a few that'll need to grow on me, but thats what happened with VG and BJ so I'm fine with that!
The Lucky Ones really stood out to me; am I right in believing thats not on the standard version? shame if its true!

The Sun showbiz editor,Gordon Smart, seems to love Lana. I've seen nothing but positive articles from him about her which is a nice change to see

Florence Welch has given Lana the seal of approval She was defending her in a magazine interview against critics who have been ripping her to shreds, saying how unfair it is that female solo artists come under so much scrutiny compared to their male counterparts. She also likes Video Games and Blue Jeans.

That's nice to hear, I have no time for those criticizing they don't listen to her music they just call her a "spoiled little rich girl" simply because her dad has money...that's just jealousy

To be honest, I think the - really rather unfair - criticism of Lana is an example of the inherent sexism in the music industry. If she was a man with a millionaire father, she'd be praised for trying to earn her own money or something.

Again that is the hypocracy of the entertainment industry!

The media just sometimes fear strong women i feel.

But IMO the best artists are mainly female IMO....bar a few massive exceptions for me really

I totally agree with you, most of my favourite female artists have been criticised in the media simply for their gender.

Really, the ONLY woman in the music industry who gets held in the same esteem as men is Kate Bush - but she's the exception. (The fact that Kate herself is exceptional doesn't hurt).

Interesting article. This Is What makes Us Girls is seemingly autobiographical.

I always thought it was, it's the type of song I believe you'd only make if it was autobiographical. The hate she's got though is extremely unfair as previously posted

I've not listened to any of the album tracks except for some of the demos and unfinished pieces etc (like 'National Anthem' and 'Off To The Races'..although I think OTTR is the same as the album version?).

I'm very excited to hear the album. 'Video Games' and 'Blue Jeans' are remastered too apparently?

I think Lana's album will be a slow seller and continue to sell more and more with each single release

Great news!

She had an early stab at recording an album - 2008's Lizzy Grant aka Lana Del Ray - which was made for $10,000 (£6,000) with Paul McCartney and Regina Spektor's producer David Kahne.

But it was never formally released, popping up on iTunes for two months in 2010 before quietly disappearing.

"I had signed to an independent label but they couldn't fund the release of it," says Del Rey.

"People act like it's so shrouded in mystery, the 'forgotten terrible album'.

"But if you look on YouTube, all 13 tracks are available with millions of views, so it's not like no-one's heard them.

"We were all proud of it. It's pretty good."

The singer recently bought back the rights to the record, and says: "I'm re-releasing it, maybe in late summer."

I'm sure they will be re-mastered. Can't wait.
